To be frazzled by my grizzly baby?

My just turned 6 month old DS has to be held and entertained one on one at all times. My elder DS certainly wasn't particularly easy but I definitely remember him being content enough on the floor or in his highchair or jumperoo with some toys for 15 minutes whilst I did some jobs. This one, forget it. The only time he's not making a whinging sound is if he's in the carrier or I'm sat giving him my full and undivided attention. It's driving me dotty. He's 9kg and having him in the carrier all day is really uncomfortable after a while.

He's not overtired. He's not unwell. I've tried all the teething remedies in case it's that - no difference. No reflux, no cmpa. Eating well and growing well. Just a very intense baby.

Love him to bits but the noise goes right through me at times!!!

I’ve been there! Had to be held, standing up. Otherwise permanent grizzling and crying. She’s 8 now and still a bit of a whingebag which I have zero tolerance for 😅 but also an intelligent, sweet, funny child and I have plenty of time when she’s not around and I can enjoy the silence. No advice. Just empathy, it sucks 💐

Solidarity! At 6m it was like a switch flicked in our DD & overnight she became a whingey Velcro baby. Always had to be attached to me (not even DH would do). Feel as though I’ve lived the last year of my life either one handed or with her screams ringing in my ears 🫠 DS was nothing like it.

The good news is she’s almost completely grown out of it now, the bad news is for us it did last a year. Some baby’s need their mums more than others. You’re his safe place 🩷

A lovely stranger once said to me (through DD’s screams in the supermarket) “the days are long but the years are short” & I’ve repeated it to myself time & time again, it’s so bloomin true,

He naps 3-4 hours in the day and sleeps 12 overnight with one or two very brief wakes for a feed so I really don't think he's tired. He's just so grumpy unless I'm carrying him about all day! If you're holding him he's the sunniest happiest baby but if you even put him down to go to the loo it is whinge central.
