Looking at baby photos and feeling broody. GOD DAMN IT. Tell me three kids is an awful idea and I will never regain my sanity! My current kids are only 3 & 1 so WHY is my brain attempting to trick me into thinking this is a great idea? Help!

Can’t help, sorry. I have three - two born on the same day four years apart with another slap bang in between them. They’re mid to late teens now, great friends to one another and all round fabulous people. Zero regrets!

Oh I love having 3! BUT... Had we known what was going to befall us financially, I should have stopped at 2. Or perhaps even 1!
Life is tough at the moment and we are struggling. 3 kids is expensive 😟

I'd love a baby. But only if that baby sleeps 12 hours solid from birth. Plus I am too old now to contemplate it. Still, I think about having a newborn! That addictive feeling when you first hold them! I'm not helping am I 😂

For me it’s the hormones. I’m perimenopausal, kids 8 and 6, enjoying them now but HATED the baby stage, and suddenly get ideas like “would it not be lovely to be pregnant again and have a little baby to breastfeed and wean onto little tiny portions of solids and put into cute little baby grows”.

Reader, I HATED the baby stage. The sleeplessness, the “can’t tell me why they’re crying”, the inability to leave the house without a massive bag of spare clothes and nappies, the velcro babies who stopped me doing any housework, the inane conversations in baby groups, the toddler tantrums, the sheer unreasonableness of toddlers… Fucking HATED it.

Now we can read together, they can entertain themselves, we play board games, go to beach and skiing holidays, travelling together is fun, we have reasonable conversations, we watch movies which are not mind numbing…

It would be IDIOTIC. But it does repeatedly occur to me.
