To ask for York ideas - hen night for more "mature" ladies with late night dancing.

I'm helping to organise a friend's hen do in York. We're all between 40-55. She would like to go for a dance somewhere, as would we all, but doesn't want us to feel out of place. By that, I mean be the only group of older people in a club / bar surrounded by late teens / 20 somethings! I'm used to my local area where there are lots of music events / club nights geared towards the older / all ages crowd.

Are there any locals on here who can suggest somewhere?

Evil Eyes for the best cocktails then onto Popworld or Flares, I'm mid 30's and didn't feel out of place there (although I did have a lot of cocktails beforehand)

You probably wouldn't be up for the Micklegate run!

Popworld or Flares = major teenage carnage. I've had the displeasure of having to walk past both these clubs on a Saturday night, not good.

I organised my friends hen party in York - we were a similar age to your group. We had a meal in The Ivy and then went to Popworld where I booked a private booth/area. We shared the space and a dance floor with about 4 other groups. We did have to use the main bar but had a great night singing and dancing without being shoved and pushed and feeling out of place.

As a pp said the Evil Eye bar is good as is The Botanist on the same street

Roxy ballroom is fantastic fun if you're looking for an activity
