Feeling lonely

Been on my own since about 4pm yesterday. My friend asked to meet up today but I haven't felt very well the last few days. Today has really dragged I felt like I was counting the hours until I went to bed. This cold weather is difficult when you're single and live alone to know things to keep you busy. Got sick of scrolling my phone and watching tv today. Tried some colouring but couldn't really be bothered.

It can be difficult, although I'm generally ok in the day & can keep myself busy. I find it hardest in the evening & mornings. Miss the morning & evening conversation. The cat doesn't always cut it. Friends who are partnered up don't get it. I try to arrange lots of future events so always have something to look forward to.

I think all of us can feel like that from time to time, especially when it's dark and cold. However, you sound more depressed than normal, especially the fact that you've turned down a visit from a friend and then felt lonely.
You don't say what you mean by "very well". There's different implications depending on whether it's a chronic physical condition, a passing lurgy, or depression.
I would advise you to talk to your GP, if you haven't already. But, in my experience, that won't be enough. You need to take yourself out of your gloomy place.
Can you join some sort of club that gets you out of the house? A choir or an art class or, even better, some sort of dance or exercise class? Depression is one of those sneaky conditions that makes you think you need to do exactly the reverse of what you ought to do, and I think it's telling you to isolate yourself, when you really need other people.
