To find it difficult to get my head round that a boy who I had a mad crush on in school now has a brother in his 70s? * lighthearted *

I still think of us as young and youthful !

Btw I know 70s isn’t old - I had several family members who worked til late 70s - one was 90 still working part time ! Many in 70s and beyond are fit and still working so not an ageist post.

i just still think of him as the teenage boy I had a crush on ! Now he’s got a 72 year old bro 😮

Totally get stuff like this OP!
I remember at work there were a group of us talking about the TV show Friends. And one person said they'd never seen an episode. It then transpired that this guy wasn't even born when the LAST episode aired. I just couldn't see how that was possible, because it only ended a few years ago, right?! 😂

I get that, for me it's people I helped look after when we were younger being married, having children and a Grandchild and I'm only 49 myself.

There is a name for this, the kind of ‘cleopatra to us is a longer time than…’ type thing, but I can’t remember what it is.

It blew my mind a few weeks ago when I discovered that one of my teenage celeb crushes (Spike from Buffy, if it matters) is now in his 60’s 🤯. I knew he was significantly older than being a teen when I was one, but still, I haven’t got that much older, so how has he 😂

It was my 'baby' brother turning 50 that got me. How can someone younger than me be sooooooo old ?
Still not over it. Not looking forward to him being 60!

I have a friend, a former boyfriend, from our early 20s. He has lived abroad for years but we exchange birthday and Christmas cards and the occasional email. In my head he is still about 27 but he told me in his Christmas card that he is retiring at 67 this year. Noooo...

DS was taken aback recently when he saw a friend from cubs in town. With his own toddler.
