All inclusive hotel in Spain.

Fancy dress competitions for kids and kids club for general ents etc discos

Some of the male hotel guests putting on drag acts as evening entertainment

Two pools - one indoor / one outdoor

Sharing a dinner table with another guest couple at the hotel

Space invader machines /Pac Man etc

Pool table

VERY predominantly British guests

Hotel is right next to a beach

Plenty of cafes and bowling alleys near by for entertainment

Nice ‘bar’ area where you can also get drinks like milk shakes etc

Courier service so you have the option to go on day trips etc

Hotel guests in general are a bit ‘Phoenix Nights’ iyswim

So, what’s the verdict ?? Y Viva Espana?

Isn't part of the joy of the holiday wandering around finding lovely restaurants to eat it?

Rockchicknana · 19/01/2025 19:17

My idea of hell! But lots of people would love it!!

Newusername3kidss · 19/01/2025 19:20

I’d hate it but my kids would love it! So we would go as if kids are happy on holiday I’m happy

FindingMeno · 19/01/2025 19:23

Hideous

TheSoapyFrog · 19/01/2025 19:26

These were the holidays I went on growing up, and I loved it. I'd definitely take my kids to Spain for the same experience.

I probably wouldn't choose to go as an adult if I didn't have kids, but I'd probably enjoy myself if I did.

Madge from Benidorm really reminds me of my nan, although my nan was friendlier. All the waiters and bar staff seemed to know her and my grandad.

Twoshoesnewshoes · 19/01/2025 19:29

I would wonder what I had done to be punished in this awful way, and my kids would wonder who we were and what we’d done with their parents.
but you do you- genuinely- everyone is different.

Realitysucks · 19/01/2025 19:30

My DH would hate this ! We did something similar with a large family group ( 5 adults and 3 under 5s) it was horrendous! Then we booked an Airbnb the following year 4 adults and two kids, own pool was amazing short 10 min walk to marina, was much better and half the price of the AI.

easylemonsqueezy · 19/01/2025 19:30

My idea from hell

Comedycook · 19/01/2025 19:32

Some of these comments are really unpleasant.

Describing it as hell, saying they'd rather eat wasps and how it sounds hideous.

It's a hotel with entertainment by a beach...with a pool and a bar. Not a hard labour camp.

Toddlerteaplease · 19/01/2025 19:35

Sounds horrific!

Lovethatforyouhun · 19/01/2025 19:37

No to the guests entertainment and shared dining tables!

Not if you have several, fractious, small children to drag around.

I can understand why eating at different places in the evening might be nice otherwise....I'd have to do just bed and breakfast in the hotels if I wasn't half board or ai....I need a breakfast buffet

Cornflakes123 · 19/01/2025 19:46

I think some of it sounds ok for a holiday with kids. The pools and the kids club etc. I hate all inclusive as I like trying different restaurants when I’m away. And “predominantly British guests” doesn’t appeal to me either.

People are just being honest. It does genuinely sound to me like a hellish experience. I wouldn’t have contemplated it before or after having a child.

BlueFlowers5 · 19/01/2025 20:05

Sounds a bit Una Paloma Blanca and Blue Spanish Eyes..

JustMeAndTheFish · 19/01/2025 20:06

Sounds like the package holidays I did as a child in the 70s. Not something I’d want to repeat.

Catcooper25uk · 19/01/2025 20:07

I'm gonna guess that you're on about Club mac alcudia Spain. Lots and lots of reviews and very marmite people either love it and return year after year or they absolutely loathe it there seems to be no in between.

That sort of thing is less than joyful with my DC!

Cherrysoup · 19/01/2025 20:12

I’d hate it, but no dc to entertain. I think kids’ clubs coulee crucial for a break for the parents, having been on self catering with lots of under 10s. Just felt like same amount of work but even more stressy!

Comedycook · 19/01/2025 20:13

So what do middle class kids do on holiday in the evening if hotel entertainment is seen as so tortuous?

MadKittenWoman · 19/01/2025 20:14

batsandeggs · 18/01/2025 18:25

No that sounds shit.

This.

We go on occasional AI holidays. We don't often partake of the entertainment etc, and just treat it as covering about 60% of our meals conveniently so we can enjoy the area.

We used to spend the whole day out seeing sights or walking so by evening they were tired, and only needed to read or maybe watch TV.

( This was in the days before ipads or handheld devices).

Grin

I was actually wondering before I read this post - if I’d picked up a mic and got on to the hotel dance floor singing an impromptu off key rendition of Una Paloma Blanca - while the drag acts were warming up - how would it have gone down ??! Grin
