I've got persistent upper abdominal pain. Between my sternum and my belly button all the way across. Paracetamol and buscopan don't help. Dont want to take any NSAIDs as they can be harsh on your tummy. Going to the toilet normally. Haven't eaten anything different.

What's your AIBU?

You'd be better off posting in General Health.

If it's persistent pain, and you're going to the toilet normally, then I'd make an appointment with your GP.

Which is the wrong place for specific questions. That's why MN created all the different boards that they have.

DaftyLass · 18/01/2025 18:09

Yabu to post here , instead of general health or even chat at a push

The pain sounds like a gall bladder type thing

TabithaWilliams · 18/01/2025 18:12

See a dr, it could be anything from constipation or gall stones or an ulcer or pancreatitis or gastritis or liver problems to an aneurysm or cancer.

Intercostal rib pain? I had similar very sore in sternum. Only thing that touched it was ibruprofen and it healed on its own.

Igottissues · 18/01/2025 18:15

Gastritis?

Oh come on, you’re just being obtuse and have been on here long enough to know that lots of posters use aibu for a quicker response, as OP has had already.

Indeed. And it's really irritating.

Chat would be better if she/he doesn’t want to post in GH.
