Yes another thread on The Traitors..

Why do all the conversations seem unnatural between everyone on the show?
I'm surprised how stupid it is. Why is it so lightweight. This is supposed current very popular with all types of people.
I'm thinking it's just over hyped and is more about branding and looks over content quality reality TV.

What do you mean by lightweight?

Not everyone wants something super deep and complicated. It’s great stress free viewing for the winter months imo

Lambington · 19/01/2025 00:19

Its cheaply produced rubbish. I don't see the appeal at all!

wholettheturnipsburn · 19/01/2025 00:25

YABVVVVU

It's not newsnight

chollysawcutt · 19/01/2025 00:31

In the olden days we only had two TV channels (well, three, but only common folk watched ITV).

Isn't it marvellous we have so much choice now, and there is something for everyone. Even the stupid people.

zigzagzigzagz · 19/01/2025 00:36

They may well discuss Nietzsche or the meaning of life with each other but they’ll only broadcast the bits that are relevant to the programme, like who they think is a Traitor.

crumblingschools · 19/01/2025 00:40

What does this thread add that the other threads on Traitors don’t?

TrackDay · 19/01/2025 00:42

Why are you watching a programme you don't like?

And then posting a thread?

Odd.

Trousername · 19/01/2025 04:16

I love it. Maybe I'm a lightweight? At least the contestants are normal people and there's a bit of psychology to it - it's not just a popularity contest for wannabe influencers like so much reality TV. Plus Claudia Winkleman makes me laugh.

What I really want to know however is how come Scotland gets such fantastic sunny weather? Presumably the Traitors was shot last summer, which was generally wet and grey just about everywhere?

LillyPJ · 19/01/2025 04:27

I wonder what you consider to be 'quality reality TV'? Traitors doesn't pretend to be serious; it's just great entertainment and really well done. If you don't like it, don't watch it.

ColinOfficeTrolley · 19/01/2025 05:21

Oh my god. How fucking tiresome. Yest ANOTHER thread about how low brow The Traitors is 🙄.

Do people not understand, it not obligatory to watch it?

There are hundreds of channels out there.

If it's not for you, TURN IT OFF and stop trying to over analyse the 'do people not know how obvious it all is'

YES!!! We fucking KNOW!!! And guess what? WE STILL ENJOY IT.

Take your snarkiness elsewhere because fans of the show couldn't GAF if it doesn't appeal to you many fuckers.

ColinOfficeTrolley · 19/01/2025 05:22

BananaNirvana · 19/01/2025 05:26

You get a tiny snippet of their conversations - and obviously only those relevant to the weeding out of the traitors 😄. Harry said the other day they actually spend very little time dissecting each other but they’re not going to broadcast they’re conversations about getting to know each other as they have a short window to fit everything in!

Yes I think I was expecting it to be really serious as in gripping edge of the seat type reality TV.
