Just that really!! Inspired by thinking if I could afford to move abroad. I suppose age helps as well as you’d expect to be worth more the older you are!!

Looking at everyone's comments and feeling very under achieved in life if I sold everything I own even the car etc I'd probably not have more then 20p to my name ngl and I'm 32. I best get my life in order sooner rather then later

BunnyLake · 17/01/2025 21:50

I’m not rich. My only asset is half a house so that money is only ever going to go straight back in to another property when it eventually sells.

That’s rich compared to anyone stuck in rental with no savings.

The only assets I have is our house - but I’m fully aware that makes me a lot “richer” than many

Mabelmable · 17/01/2025 21:59

We are 80, and it will be £1.5million between the two DC. Like others (probably) we are keeping it rather than hand it on in case we need it for care home costs.
We give to charities and church. Live broadly the same way as we did when we got married. Manager is growing it for us.

PandoraSox · 17/01/2025 22:00

About £2 billion.

Wintersgirl · 17/01/2025 22:03

If we got rid of assets then we'd probably net around 1.3 million give or take, there's quite a bit of equity in house now and DH is an avid classic car and watch collector.

876543A · 17/01/2025 22:03

Approx half a million. A situation that has come about through losing people in our families and inheriting. I only earn 25k a year and work part time, as does my other half. We are fortunate to have low outgoings due to no mortgages, so we work part time to be around for our child as much as we can, and we don't have extravagant lifestyles at all. We live within our means and our child will have security for the future. Its for them to liquidate if they want in the future, not us.

Janbluesuary · 17/01/2025 22:05

About £2m and I know this as a fact as I had my annual update report from my financial advisor plus £300k earmarked for the children. Am very very fortunate.

TravellingSpoon · 17/01/2025 22:05

Probably £300k including equity, savings and my LA pension that Ive paid into for 22 years.

Mt car is worth much, much less thn I paid for it. Damn you electric.

Christmas202 · 17/01/2025 22:06

inheritance would be worth just over a million.

Sheknowsaboutme · 17/01/2025 22:07

Our house and land about £550k
2 other houses about £150k each
we are 50 & 60

lifeonmars100 · 17/01/2025 22:09

Bugger all, my life is utter crap

viques · 17/01/2025 22:09

£65,000,000 plus.

I haven’t actually checked the lottery numbers yet, but my logic is that unless I know I haven’t won then I will assume I have.

The plus is my real assets, but they pale into insignificance next to my lottery winnings.

WhitegreeNcandle · 17/01/2025 22:09

Interesting question. Mine will sound ridiculous. I’m about 250k liquid in my own name I can get my hands on fairly quickly. About 100k of that came from a property I bought that increased. Some pension I’ve saved up. Some investments. A fair chunk gifted to me by parents.

But DH is worth about 4.5 million.

The caveat to that is we are relatively small farmers. In laws have just gifted everything to DH to avoid IHT. Wills are being written left right and centre to try to plan for different eventualities eg making sure the j. Laws aren’t buggered if DH dies first. Some cracking family conversations recently! We would be highly unlikely to sell and what’s on paper is very very different to what’s in the bank!!!

Ohshutupcolinyoutwat · 17/01/2025 22:10

Is just to make some of us feel extra shit?

Bugger all, my life is utter crap

Money helps but it does not buy happiness. Plus there are a load of bullshitters on here so take it with a huge pinch of salt.

Greyish2025 · 17/01/2025 22:11

Around €270k, I’m 49

ByAquaKoala · 17/01/2025 22:11

28 - car about 60k, house 1.4m but that would be divided by 2, my investment company which is worth just over 2m. I do have some pension and savings too so aot I'd say about 3m

Username2101 · 17/01/2025 22:11

About £15 a receipt and some floof

DontPushMeCos · 17/01/2025 22:12

@PandoraSox yeah I can relate- about £2billion ! But roughly a bit less- more like £1000 here 😆 got all the stuff money can’t buy ❤️ Side note as we be talking wealth and taxes etc- Billionaires should not be legal. (I know this vids 4 USA but we’re right behind them in the uk for wealth disparity in developed countries) Love this depressing vid https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QPKKQnijnsM
