Friend issues..

I have a friend who has been keen to meet every week for a coffee and it’s been a nice friendship.
Now she’s gone to Canada for nearly 4 months to visit someone there.
I sent her a text last week, zero acknowledgement at all.
She’s done this before, it’s like when she’s away that’s it, zero contact. I don’t expect any regular texts, I know she’ll be busy and enjoying herself, but it just feels a bit off. Last time I heard nothing for 6 weeks.
Aibu to see her a bit less and cultivate other friends?

Shes on holiday. Pretty common to not maintain the same level of contact when abroad. You dont spend thousands to travel to another country to digitally mingle with the same people, you soak in every pennys worth imo

Hear what you say, yes she’s on holiday, got other priorities, but I suppose I feel even one text while she’s away for months is obviously too much for her.
she will contact me to meet up the minute she’s back though.

I think it’s normal, my friends and I deliberately don’t contact the holiday person.
