Day 5 d&v DS

Shamelessly posting in AIBU for traffic. At wits end

Day 5 of d&v in 3year old. Started early hours mon and here we are early hours Friday.

Has had breaks of no vomit or diarrhoea for about six hours where he plays and eats crackers. And then it starts up again.

Have spoken to GP twice. Husband a hospital doctor (I used to be one too) but no experience in kids illnesses.

I'm pregnant and washing machine is broken.

Wtf is going on . When does this end . Any experiences of this???

We know red flags and not concerned about anything sinister. It just seems to be a bonkers Gastro virus

Oh and I also have emetophobia and am completely hysterical at times this week. I have posted previously this week under a different name this week , I then name changed for a relationship post. I can't keep up 🫣

Bless you, I feel you with the emetophobia! And being pregnant aswell sounds really stressful!
are crackers the only thing he is eating? After mine get bugs I try and avoid dairy for a few weeks after as that always seemed to set them back off!

We went to ED as not keeping fluids down and he was miserable and asked soon as he got there he perked up - classic! They did a blood test which showed his body is coping even if my mind isn't 🫠

He's eaten ice lollies and toast crusts , some salty crisps.

He's become quite scared of his room as that is where the vomiting has mostly taken place - at night,

He's been up since midnight (now 6pm) but he appears to be falling asleep now.

The diarrhoea is so smell fouling (obviously) but it's like sour eggs ! It's been 112 hours since it started (who's counting) , surely if I was gonna get it I would have got it by now?
