On the back of the other thread, clearly!

Mine:

Terrible management
Boring work
The actual takes are mostly futile

OP posts:
timothynicebutdim · 16/01/2025 16:56

I don't want to leave but if I did it would be because of a strong sense of inadequacy.

CrushingOnRubies · 16/01/2025 17:00

Commute
A couple of awful colleagues
Been there ages, need a change

MajorCarolDanvers · 16/01/2025 17:03

Stress - I’m the boss
lack of money - it’s a charity
trustees - who don’t understand their role

RepTV · 16/01/2025 17:07

Get out of bed
Walking to work
Being at work

daisydaughter · 16/01/2025 17:08

The relentless never-endingness of it.
People expecting more of me than I can deliver.
Feeling like I’m failing people.

Shinyandnew1 · 16/01/2025 17:09

Workload (often pointless)

Funding from the LA, meaning I constantly feel like I am disappointing people.

Micromanagement

tellmesomethingtrue · 16/01/2025 17:09

I recently quit my job due to

  • micromanagement
  • terrible traffic
  • job description inaccurate compared to what the actual job was!
neverbeenskiing · 16/01/2025 17:09

PMS

The behaviour of a (fortunately) small minority of parents of the children I work with

The fact that the pay isn't great

Only ever for a moment though, I really love my job the vast majority of the time and the positives massively outweigh the occasional frustrations.

Tia86 · 16/01/2025 17:10

The pay
Lack of training opportunities
Not enough staff (so more pressure on those presents)

spuddy4 · 16/01/2025 17:12

Cost cutting
Unrealistic workload
Customers being rude

tellmesomethingtrue · 16/01/2025 17:13

I've also quit several jobs in the past due to:

  • being found out that I lied on my CV
  • having a meltdown most days due to divorce pending
  • did not want to be part of the company because the product went against my morals
  • for more money
  • didn't honour the company discount
  • couldn't hack night shift
  • working through covid being vulnerable and scared, exposing my less professional side at work - crying, questioning my ability
  • having panic attacks due to bullying management

Quite a few...
I currently love my job

IllustratedDictionaryOfTheDoldrums · 16/01/2025 17:15

Unmanageable workload- I'm exhausted
Long commute. WFH not allowed.
Salary on lower end for my experience

I'm actively looking for new role due to first two

Cheepcheepcheep · 16/01/2025 17:15

I like my job, but if the flexibility (part time hybrid) was removed I would quit on the spot.

ShinyWorthKeeping · 16/01/2025 17:20

No mat leave,
Baby is 6 months, haven't heard from manager since I updated her on my 36 week scan,
Been told I'm needed back sooner rather than later.

Surprise, I'm not going back.

Cluelessasacucumber · 16/01/2025 17:25

Glacial pace of decision making on important delivery stuff whilst senior leaders are instead busy churning out another bloody new, shiny "strategy" and "delivery plans"

Utterly unachievable workload but someone's always having a go (including volunteers, "supporters" and the public because you are expected to be a super-saint when you work for charity)

If another role comes along where I could make more impact

Unexpectedlysinglemum · 16/01/2025 17:26

That I would get almost free childcare and universal credit if I don't work as much as I do now

TortillaTam · 16/01/2025 17:26

Bitchy Colleagues
My daily Injuries (SEN Clients)
Low Pay

summer3219 · 16/01/2025 17:27

Directors who listen to a load of reasons why something won't work in practice, decide they want it done anyway and then want you to explain why it went wrong when it inevitably does.

People not delivering the actions they committed to yet still expecting you to deliver yours, even though theirs are a pre-requisite for yours.

Can't come up with another as I genuinely love my job, just would be good if I could get on with doing it properly.

I meant no maternity pay!

HollyBerryz · 16/01/2025 17:28

Lazy people
Management not dealing with lazy people
I only have those two

SatinHeart · 16/01/2025 17:33

Crap salary
No promotion prospects
Zero consequences for people who are crap at their jobs

The flexibility and work life balance is excellent though...

whoamI00 · 16/01/2025 17:37

boredom
lack of growth opportunities
a lack of experienced individuals

Snoopystick · 16/01/2025 17:37

Micromanagement - not regarding mistakes but e.g unnecessary follow up of email actions when they’re not directly involved.
Not been in the role that long but feeling constricted by the weird rules in place around flexi etc.
Some strange team dynamics.

Whatsthatbrightlight · 16/01/2025 17:37

Workload/unreasonable expectations

Micromanagement

Senior Management Team making unnecessary changes to systems/processes that work & refusing to listen when things go wrong

APushbikeNamedReluctance · 16/01/2025 17:39

Incompetent and lazy line manager
Senior mangers' cronyism
My team's ever increasing workload also having the work tine manager's supppsed to do dumped because they are "busy".
