Parking tickets

My teenager dropped a friend off on the side of a road in our local town Unfortunately, as they pulled over to the side of the road, they crossed over onto a private strip of land about a metre over the white line (by the side of a river - other vehicles parked along there)

They have been sent a parking ticker by a private company with a series of photos, clearly showing friend exiting and them driving off, lights on the whole time and the shot of them crossing the line to exiting over the line is 34 seconds!

Harsh lesson to learn as a young driver and am wondering does this make a record for the most expensive 34 second parking offence!

The driver could argue that they were not parked, just dropping off a passenger. Tell them to follow the appeals procedure with the parking firm and provide evidence, it's worth a try to get the fine overturned.
