Can’t be bothered with work any more

How do people manage to amass such large pensions. This chap is on £100k plus £10k bonus, which is a good salary, but by no means extraordinary.

I earn around £70k and put 12% of my salary into my pension but its tiny compared to this guy’s. I am of a similar age as well.

How do people do this?

He was probably putting as much into it as he could afford for tax purposes. And his employer will have contributed, possibly doubling it.

He might have chosen risky investment funds which have paid off.

Does he say how old he is? Presumably past retirement age? The stock market went through some very good times.

Edit Sorry I see age. That is young to have amassed so much. Probably lucky on the stocks.

Of course it's extraordinary! Less than 4% of the working population earn £100k+.

How is yours earning interest? You can make changes through your pension provider sometimes, or have private pensions / savings etc that could be counted towards that figure.
