Just remembered this ...

A number of years ago I was at a beautiful wedding in a hotel. It was a hot day and was mid-afternoon. The father of the groom wasn't feeling great (maybe overwhelmed) and went outside to get some fresh air.

He then had a heart attack. His brother (so the groom's uncle) was a fireman so gave
CPR until an ambulance arrived. The bride and one of her bridesmaids were nurses and was also taking turns!

As you can imagine, it's not what they'd expect on their wedding day.

Anyway, in the end the groom's father was taken off to hospital and, fortunately, made a full recovery.

Only afterwards it came out that whilst the groom's brother was in the middle of giving CPR, a hotel guest (not part of the wedding party) went and asked him if he had a lighter she could use for her cigarette!!!!!!!!

And whilst this may almost seem like a made up story, it's the truth and actually played down (and I've name changed for it)!

As you can imagine, it was pretty traumatic.

Honestly, I have no idea what goes through peoples minds! 😞
My late Father was diagnosed with Early Onset Alzheimers and also suffered from hypertension which resulted in him regularly fainting.
Before he went in to a care home, he would go shopping with my Mum to their local shopping centre.
One afternoon he had an episode in a card shop and he collapsed in one of the aisles. The staff were great and helped him and my Mum until the paramedic arrived. But whilst he was out cold on the floor another customer literally stepped across him to better reach a card that she wanted to buy.
He passed away 10 years ago but it still boils my blood when I think about 😡

@LouH1981

I'm sorry to hear this! Why on earth would you even think it's OK to do that!
