New poster. My daughter (21) has bipolar disorder. She is well medicated and relatively stable. She is at university. (She does live at home whilst at uni) Although she has bipolar she has never suffered with any other mental health issues etc. Over the last three weeks, she has become very restrictive with her eating. For example she has weetabix and fruit for breakfast. Cucumber lettuce and peppers with one ryvita for lunch. And then soup and fruit and veg or chicken or turkey for dinner. As well as this she is obsessively exercising. 2 hours in the gym daily and 20k steps. She is constantly watching videos of people eating cakes, fast food etc on tiktok. She is also smelling foods like sweets, bread etc but not eating them. She is encouraging me to eat lots and constantly buying me chocolates etc then smelling them. I have tried speaking with her but she doesn't think there is anything wrong with what she is doing. She is 5ft8 and pre Christmas she was 69kg she is now 61kg. She has a general medication review with her psychiatrist on 21st January. (I have rang them they can't bring it forward, I'm her registered carer hence why they talk to me) what do I do? Do I wait til 21st or try and get her to gp. I have no experience of eating disorders etc. her bmi is still in the healthy range so will they even do anything?
