Salou Holiday

I know this is the wrong sub, I will 100% accept I am unreasonable for this! I could however really use some advice from mumsnetters that have been to Salou recently with 2 young(ish) children 10 and 5

We haven't been on a family holiday abroad since I had the youngest so really do not want to mess this up.

There are many lovely hotels in Cap Salou that have splash parks, soft play, arcades, play parks etc that the kids would love but it looks like there isn't much to do in Cap Salou so it would be a bus each day into Salou city center for dinner and night time entertainment about 20 minutes each way.

Or we could stay in a hotel nearer the city center, with amenities for the kids but no splash park or soft play but then we wouldn't be so tied to the hotel so could find other things for them to do more easily if they get fed up at pool, park etc.

What I'm asking is what would you do in this situation Cap Salou or nearer the center? Also is the journey from Cap Salou into the center a pain in the backside or nice and easy/a non issue?

Again sorry for the wrong sub!

We stayed here last July. About 10/15 minute walk to the beach and centre and same
To portavrntura theme and water park. Hotel had activities on every day and night. Food was lovely. Rooms basic and clean. Will definitely go back there.
