How much would you give an adult child for their birthday?
They still live at home and have a reasonably paid job.

Between £50-£100

leafybrew · 10/01/2025 17:26

£50

It really depends on what you can afford. Usually I give DC £150, but that doesn't mean you should also do the same. It is fine to give less or more.

Our eldest has a good job , lives out of the home and I’ve just bought him a jacket for his birthday that was £125 , and a new flight pillow which was £30 .

Normallynumb · 10/01/2025 17:36

I give my three £100 each

Normallynumb · 10/01/2025 17:38

Or a gift to that budget obviously

ploppiness · 10/01/2025 17:38

250 and 500 for a big birthday - 21/30/40 etc. same for all children and their spouses.

MyStylish40s · 10/01/2025 17:41

£50 and a token present
£100 for a big birthday

InAPickle25 · 10/01/2025 17:41

I gave mine £150 last year and £100 on 2 items of clothing .
Will do similar this year.

I have primary and secondary children and they all get £250 for presents too. Plus the party. We take adult dc usually for a meal or whatever

Thanks for all replies!
Settled on £60 and going out for a nice meal 😊
