All about wrinkles

Does anyone think the endless beauty serums work to even lessen the wrinkles rapidly appearing under eyes? Not being young I still would like to see if anything will help these wrinkles even smooth them out a bit. Don't like aging but better than the alternative! 😉

Having tried all the serums/creams/snake oil in the world I can confirm that nothing works.

The only thing that does is tret or Botox.

Really hoping someone else replies saying they've found the holy grail though

I don't think any of the potions work to reduce wrinkles. I think it's mostly down to genetics, but things like using spf, staying hydrated, using an effective moisturiser morning and night, avoiding cigarettes and alcohol, getting enough sleep, managing stress, eating healthy foods, and generally taking care of yourself, can definitely help to prevent wrinkles developing. I don't think any creams or lotions can really change or reduce them once they have appeared.

That's just my opinion though! And I'm definitely not against spending money on beauty products. I use fairly expensive clarifying lotion and moisturiser twice a day....but that's because I have extremely oily skin and it's the only way I can prevent acne. And I do believe my dedicated skincare routine has helped slow down the appearance of wrinkles for me (...or maybe it's just my naturally very oily skin??).

But overall, I don't think specific products can prevent specific wrinkles from appearing!

Tret can. Proven to.

I started using the boots number 7 retinol night serum as above my eyelids was starting to go crepey. My face broke out a bit at first but apparently that can happen.
I persevered and after around 6 weeks the crepey skin returned to smooth!
I'm 55 so it absolutely worked for me

Tret and sunscreen are the only topicals which will have any substantial effect on wrinkles.

Thank you all. You more or less said what I expected. Will just have to grow bold grace fully. 😉 Appreciate your opinions and help

How do you actually get your hands on Tret in Ireland or UK?

I've got oily skin, but sadly, I've still got wrinkles.

Skin + me or Dermatica can prescribe it to you.

It's OTC in Spain, so if you know anyone going there, you can stock up.

Thanks. I'll take a look.

Agree but I want to add spf 50 or higher daily, face oil, silk pillowcase, and retinol also help! I’m a fan of Cerave products

What is treat and why is it different from a zillion other retilnol creams?

achangeofusername · 10/01/2025 06:29

Tret. What is tret.

Tret. What is tret.

Tretinoin. It's basically prescription strength retinol that is the gold standard when it comes to acne and wrinkles. It is processed very effectively and you can go up in strengths.

It is incredibly strong so important to start on the lowest only a couple of times a week and build up.

Ive used both Skin & Me, Dermatica and Tretinoin I've sourced OTC in Spain and Thailand. My preference is getting it myself and then adding and changing as it suits me.

Tret is the only thing proven to help with anti aging. You need very simple skincare alongside it.

Vanicream is the absolute best Imo for moisteriser as it is very sensitive.
You don't use any acids or other exfoliants alongside Tret as you'll damage your skin barrier.

Tret is far more cost effective than using fancy, expensive creams that feel nice but will never actually do anything other than hydrate your skin.

Tret is stronger but u have to start with a low dose and work up to a stronger one for a noticeable results. Some women hate it, it’s very hard on ur skin. I haven’t tried it but plan to. I had a VI chemical peel and it was awful for the first few days, lots of itching and peeling skin, but it was worth it bc it took years off my face.

jenmagiciansgirl · 11/01/2025 01:01

Thank you, silk pillowcase a good idea.

Genetics and sun damage. Always wear sun glasses when out in the sun even in winter.
