I'm genuinely horrified!

I do most of the cooking at home, which is fine. My husband will do some basic meals, also fine.
Tonight I made some Korean vegetable pancakes that my girls like. Also made some pork.
As my husband doesn't like the pancakes, I asked what veggies he'd like to do for himself.
He proceeded to boil some mushrooms!
I'm genuinely horrified. He said he likes them.
Is this a thing? Do people eat plain boiled mushrooms?
What ways of cooking foods weird you out?

I love raw mushrooms! And wierdly hate cooked ones 😅

100% I will only eat raw ones.. Cooked turned my stomach. My family growing up would have fried mushrooms and they always looked liked shriveled up slugs to me. I have only ever been able to eat them sliced up raw or not at all!

And in regards to the original post.. I shouldn't presume.. But if this husband is the husband she has children with.. I am presuming she has known him a while.. Yet your only just finding out now he boils mushrooms? I feel like that's something yourd discover with in the first few months of knowing someone.. Depending how often they eat mushrooms ofcorse..

So my concern is if this is the first time her husband has boiled mushroom and it's not normal for him.. Then maybe he needs keeping a eye on as he might be turning a bit loopy 😂

Mushrooms are awesome however they're cooked.
Just give me all the mushrooms.
So I've voted YABU

I have never heard of BOILED mushrooms. EW.

As for the Korean pancakes, YUM! I make "Mexican" ones with Corn, Red Peppers, Black Beans, Courgette, Coriander, Paprika, Cumin & Jalopenos (if you like it) and a bit of grated cheese to help hold it all together. Great with some sour cream and sweet chili sauce.

Boiled mushrooms sounds like something you'd use in a Hallowe'en guessing game.

@PyongyangKipperbang definitely still a no from me Grin it's the entire taste altogether plus the texture
I chop it really finely and put it in stuff like cottage pie and that's ok

I don't like fennel either or parsley or coriander

On the very rare occasion we have domino's, I have double cheese and double mushroom. The kids all call it "sliced slug pizza". They know nothing!

Not a fan of fennel though.

Canned mushrooms exist. I imagine boiled mushrooms would be like canned

He's probably sick of living with a pretentious wife. Just give him egg n chips next time.

Or possibly a Korean wife? Jesus.

In gravy I could understand but just water? That's wrong.

You’ve lost your tiny mind too.

Ooh, I like boiled mushrooms. I think its because of my upbringing. I am with your OH on this. 😁
