To ask if you think I should go the drs about this?

Any GP’s about?

A couple of days ago I noticed this sore on my hand. As far as I’m aware I haven’t done anything to acquire it!

I was thinking it could be a skin condition, but now I’m worried it might be skin cancer. Is that ridiculous? There’s 3 other little pin prick size scabs/ marks just up from it.

Do you think I should just monitor it? So weird how it’s suddenly appeared. I don’t want to waste drs time if it’s just a scab or something, but I can’t think how I’d have hurt my hand.

It’s a little tender if I put pressure on it, but otherwise not sore.

Leave it for a few days and see if it heals. It already looks as if it is scabbing over nicely.

Do you have health anxiety ? I’ve always got similar marks on hands from catching the skin and little grazes - could be anything from putting Christmas decorations away to a small scratch from packaging

SoulMole · 09/01/2025 17:30

Just looks like a tiny injury from catching on something. I usually have at least three on my hands but I am clumsy.

Ice recently had skin cancer, what made you jump straight to that is there a family history or? as others have said just leave it and see if it heals up as it just looks like a small scratch, if you’re still worried about it you could ask a pharmacist and then if it hasn’t healed in a while then go to a doctor

mindutopia · 09/01/2025 17:38

That just looks like you’ve scratched it. And I say that as someone with skin cancer. It only appeared a few days ago. I think this is health anxiety talking. Leave it another week or two and if it’s more pronounced then, have it looked at.

LoafofSellotape · 09/01/2025 17:41

Leave it a week, it'll be gone by then, it's already healing.

I've had all sorts that could have been mistaken for cancer. Lump in breast, change in bowel habits, black mole type thing appearing on my foot and a black stripe in my toenail.
All were nothing, and the black mole type thing was infact a blood blister that fell off and I had a bruised toenail that I didn't remember doing.
I know someone that had skin cancer and it doesn't heal. This looks like it's scabbing over and is healing, so please don't worry yourself so early on!
