DVT - Terrified!

Hi all,

I started a thread in December, I don't know how to link - it was in Chat, asking about possibility of DVT in the shin.

Anyway...I went to A&E last night after it just wouldn't resolve and I panicked myself into a total state - lo and behold I almost certainly have a DVT. Started on apixaban straightaway and back today for an ultrasound to confirm. D-Dimer was raised and doc says 'yes you have a clot'. I'm TERRIFIED. Could hardly sleep last night. Feel scared to move, walk, anything. Feel like any second now it will decide to break off and i'll be on the floor dead. Talk me down PLEASE Sad

Takes a while to kick in, and do make sure you don't miss doses (I can tell when he's not taken it) but it's a game changer ,if its not the one for you though, don't be afraid to go back to the GP and say so, you may feel pretty shit in the first couple of weeks before it works so don't write it off straightaway. Said as a passenger in the sertraline car.

I reckon you need a good two months trial to see how it goes.but it may not be for you, happy to see how it goes with you if you'd like.

I did see an amazing GP on Friday and she has already booked me in 3 weeks from now, with her, to see how I am going on it.

Thank you 💐

Sounds good, let's check in on this thread if you want to. In the meantime, i hope you are relaxing post stress, you deserve it!

I'm off the drink or I'd have been halfway down a bottle of red by now, but i'm finishing a disgustingly fattening hot chocolate stick and then going to bed with my book.

Hope you're having a great Saturday night (sunday morning?), and thank you again, you've been a life saver x

Off to bed myself, sweet dreams.
