Can I take toddler along with me to my baby's nursery settling in session?

DS1 who is 3, has been attending nursery for a year now. DS2 is 13 months and has a settling in session next Wednesday at the same nursery. DS1 doesnt attend nursery on Wednesdays.

This first settling in session is 2hrs where a parent is present and the staff go over everything with you whilst baby plays for 1hr, followed by 1hr of leaving the child.

A friend was supposed to watch DS1 next Wednesday but due to a recent car accident, cant. Is it cheeky of me to ask nursery if DS1 can attend for 1hour? Obviously hed be in his usual room as it would be odd for him to be with baby and me in the baby room. And ofc I'd pay!

We have no family in the area. So cant ask anyone else.

My daughters nursery would have facilitated this ☺️

Would it not be easier to have the settling in session on a day when your toddler attends nursery anyway?

I think it's fine to ask, especially if you're willing to pay for the session. Are the nursery usually pretty accomodating?

Hopefully, they’ll make an exception, it’s usually down to staffing levels or what point in the day, will it be nap time, snack time etc. x

Unfortunately not, because I feel DS2 will need more sessions as he's super duper clingy to me so timewise I am limited Unfortunately

Usually yes. If I need an extra session last minute, they certainly do their best to accommodate. Obviously depends on staff levels

My DCs nursery were fine with me doing this, as long as they have enough staff on the day there shouldn’t be a problem.
