I'm in a long distance relationship, we enjoy going on holidays together and he comes over to visit. Even though we get on alright, I can't have a holiday with him for longer than 5 days (2 of those traveling) without us rowing. I explained that we should really stick to the 5 days and then he booked 2 weeks to visit and got really angry when i asked him to leave my house after 5 days. This annoyed me so much I was pissed off from the start, he also smokes weed and vapes which I dislike, he sometimes helps with diy jobs and is kind in that he brings gifts he has a good heart, anyway I finished with him. AIBU

It’s not up to anyone else, if he’s a nuisance after 5 days and you’re at the limit of his company that isn’t promising though.

You don't need a reason to end a relationship. It no longer meets your needs and that's good enough.

The weed would have been my dealbreaker.

Was he mind-blowing in the sack? Why else would you be with someone you couldn't stand for more than a few days?

Thanks for your reassuring replies, I know he has a good heart which is the difficult part, but I cannot operate and focus on my own life properly when I have someone who is stoned around me for any length of time.

It's not a relationship, it'll never be a "proper" relationship. Just ditch and get on with your life.

I suppose I've had so many bad relationships I was trying to make the best out of not so good one! He is a nice guy fun to be with, I'm done with looking for a 'soul mate', the stoned bit is too much to take though after 5 days!

If you can't spend more than 5 days together without rowing, you're not compatible are you?
