To think Elon Musk has gone nuts

What on earth is going on with him. Calling for Nagel Farage to resign. Now wanting the PM to resign amd said we have a tyrannical government. It's all a bit odd.

Am I right I read he is on the spectrum, so he may have difficulty processing social communication or responding appropriately, possibly lack of empathy and if he is on drugs as well that may well compound any internal issues he has

And as someone posted above, he comes from a dysfunction family

mindutopia · 06/01/2025 18:48

He’s actually South African.

But look what sort of family he comes from. His dad has had two children with his stepdaughter who he’s parented since she was 4.

I have no sympathy for the absolute nut job, but no wonder he’s completely messed up.

Seriously, bloody hell that's awful,no wonder his son is the way he is then.

DarkAndTwisties · 06/01/2025 19:09

Elections are to power and governance what giving a three year old a toy steering wheel in the back is to driving.

So the solution is Musk behind the wheel? For what reason? Because he's rich?

Thatcastlethere · 06/01/2025 19:09

tobee · 06/01/2025 18:59

He's a comic book villain come to life unfortunately

Oh don't. He'd love that comparison. In reality he's just a boring pasty, lumpy narcissistic middle aged man.

FenixWinda · 06/01/2025 19:10

I've always been creeped out by him, even with most money in the world, he ended up with a face like a bawbag !

2dogsandabudgie · 06/01/2025 19:11

DanceTheDevilBackIntoHisHole · 06/01/2025 18:46

He's a chaos agent and is just playing. People have been assuming he's acting out of self interest ie his companies will make more money if Trump is in power etc. but honestly I don't think he gives a shit about that. He doesn't need more money.

I sort of picture him like depictions of Zeus and the Greek gods in old movies. Like charicatures just playing with the humans like dolls, not caring what really happens and meddling on a whim. He throws comments out there because he canz and to see what will happen just for shits and giggles and to see if he can have an effect.

He is autistic which explains a lot of his behaviour and how he views the world. Not making excuses for him by the way.

Thameslock · 06/01/2025 19:11

Think he is probably on the spectrum, nothing wrong with that, but combine it with vast wealth AND Megalomania. That gives the world as big a problem as his mate Trump, they have similar traits. Think Bond Villan

dapsnotplimsolls · 06/01/2025 19:11

I couldn't read the article because it was behind a paywall but there was a NYT article about him setting up a compound for his women and his kids. Hmmmm.

usernother · 06/01/2025 19:11

He's on some sort of power crazed trip. I honestly feel like I'm watching a black mirror episode when I'm reading twitter atm.

SignificantSalamander · 06/01/2025 19:11

He'll be running for president in 2028. We're doomed.

MidnightMusing5 · 06/01/2025 19:12

User135644 · 06/01/2025 18:40

He's being heroic over the grooming scandal.

I think it's genuinely sickened him which is a normal response

Magnifying glass

Startingagainandagain · 06/01/2025 19:12

He has always been a complete nutcase and a nasty right wing supporter.

Buying X has just made this more visible to everyone.

I think getting close to Trump has made him think he can do anything now and openly interfere in other countries' politics and elections.

It will be interesting to see what happens when he inevitable falls out with Trump next....

No he won't, he isn't eligible.

Gunnersforthecup · 06/01/2025 19:13

oops, ticked the Wrong box.

Yes he's nuts.

Apparently, he started a poll on X to ask whether America should take action to liberate the UK

🤔

Thatcastlethere · 06/01/2025 19:14

LastTrainsEast · 06/01/2025 19:07

Assuming by behaviour you meant him speaking then the nice thing is that it doesn't have to qualify as reasonable to anyone. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

You know you can go on X and tell him you have a different opinion right? They don't cancel people for that now he's in charge.

In fact that's one reason some people hate Musk. They say if he won't silence people they don't like that means he agrees with that person in every respect.

But he does... thats the issue. He does agree with them. That is why he bought twitter. He thinks it's 'free speech', but he just wants a platform to hear views more in line with his own beliefs.
X is a complete echo chamber now.
It's just a cesspit of nonsense.

readingmakesmehappy · 06/01/2025 19:14

I am here for the catastrophic falling out with Trump which will inevitably come.

So naive.

It's just his latest rant.

soupfiend · 06/01/2025 19:15

So he says his own dad has done every type of evil

Whjat does that mean, has his dad murdered and raped people? Abused his children?

Left crumbs in the butter?

What does he mean?

comedia24 · 06/01/2025 19:15

It's a worry when you realise that Trump may be the more moderate one! Scary times ahead.

SensibleSigma · 06/01/2025 19:15

The mistake people make is listening. It’s his current hobbyhorse.
He’s massively motivated by free speech.

He spits the dummy about the idea that there are things you aren’t allowed to say.

In a grown up world, when people spout crap you move along and listen to someone else. Or become a speaker and offer an alternative.

Apart from the random insults he throws around when irritated/hurt/insulted, he doesn’t actually say much that’s particularly offensive. At least, I’ve not seen that. It’s more that people read a lot of associated ideas into things he says. So in supporting Trump, they assume he supports all the crap Trump says. But he used to be a democrat.

In my opinion he’s just a bit single issue. Hyper focussed on what people should be allowed to say. And Trump neatly illustrates people being allowed to spout garbage 🤣

dapsnotplimsolls · 06/01/2025 19:16

I wonder if he and Trump ever discuss their Daddy issues.

BIossomtoes · 06/01/2025 19:17

JingsMahBucket · 06/01/2025 18:33

He’s not American. He’s a racist colonial white South African.

In your rush to hate Americans again you’ve screwed up.

Edited

He’s a US citizen now.

He's not very motivated by free speech when he bans people off Twitter for criticising him.

itsjustbiology · 06/01/2025 19:18

I rather admire him. I think he is certainly an oddity. Is he nice ? I don't know.Is he causing all this aggro for his own personal fun ?Yes probably. Is he playing the system to his own end/ego ?yes I think so , Is he making the people who are intent on hiding the truth uncomfortable? Yes absolutely. Have you seen the debate in Parliament going on live right now..they are jumping through hoops trying to minimize this damage and rightly so. All across this house of parliament they ignored the victims and kicked the can down the road for years. They are not doing that now and that is down to Musk. I hope he keeps shouting and draws the kind of attention only he can to shine a light on these injustices in our society. One thing for sure ..nobody can ignore him.

SensibleSigma · 06/01/2025 19:18

Made me smile when he rang up a journalist at the BBC to ask why he’d reported critically about X. The journalist was very taken aback, but successfully persuaded him that the BBC was not a state sponsored broadcaster but was indeed independent.
