Paris on a budget ?

Posting for traffic in AIBU!

I'm taking my elderly mother ( very fit and loves walking) to Paris for the Easter weekend , 4 nights. I've bought the eurostar tickets already and provisionally reserved a hotel for 4 nights , twin room near Gare du Nord.

My AIBU is that the last few times we have been we have stayed very close to Gare Du Nord, last time in 2019, I thought the area was pretty awful then!

Is there anywhere else to stay which is reasonable and not far from Gare Du Nord? My mum likes to be reasonably close as she worries about missing train etc

I was looking at Latin Quarter maybe?

Look at the underground lines from Gare du Nord and perhaps work from there. We stayed in a hotel a couple of stops from Gare du Nord on line B (I think - the blue line) for example, which made it easy to get to the station.
