a really sturdy fold up dining table

My new Years resolution is to do more hosting- I have a small kitchen table that just about seats 4 - I'd need to put a larger table in my lounge to seat 8 maybe?
It will need to fold down/ collapse to go in the garage when not needed

I've been considering getting a matching 4 seater to match the kitchen one and double the size- but that would need to stay up in the garage

Or do I need a drop leaf one?

Anyone got any ideas?

If you know a joiner, ask him to make you an. MDF ‘top’ to fit over your existing table, hinged in the middle to about twice the length of your existing table. it will need ‘dwangs’ ( bits of wood underneath ) as my joiner would say, to hold it in place.

Don’t be tempted to go bigger as it will be too flexible.

You can store this in your garage. It will need a cloth or cover to make it attractive, but it should do the trick.
