Most frustrating day

Out of 7 appointments
1 cancellation (ok)
2 reappointment (ok)
2 show up (fab)
2 NOT show up, no call no text no NOTHING

(I am a Cambridge Diet Counsellor)

AIBU to be fecked off at the no shows? Cos I could have juggled the appointments that DID come and I could have taken the kids out for the day???

(and breathe)

Spooks you are never unreasonable........your my mateXXXXX

No of course YANBU. When you book appointments in the future, you should insist on a cancellation fee if they don't give you enough notice that they're not coming. With your kind of business, your clients are coming with big self-esteem issues and might not see you as a real human being with a life of your own.

YANBU in these days of email/mobile phones etc there is no excuse. Sometimes shit happens but even then when the dust settles you get a chance to ring & apologise!! One of my bug bears.

Thank you, Ladies.
May be worth looking into a cancellation fee...

Definitely a cancellation fee of the full amount unless 24 hrs notice given (and always at your discretion though). Tell them at the time of booking and also have notices up in your clinic room saying the same thing. You may or may not get the money if it's a new patient but at least you will be in line with every other healthcare professional practice there is and you will also eliminate them doing it again. You don't need no showers on your books anyway.

You can always refuse to see them again unless they pay up for the last lot in advance. Your rules.

This is why you need a cancellation fee.

a) means it wasn't a complete waste of time

b) stops some taking the piss.

Obv you can always waive it if you want (e.g. if someone was rushed to hospital).

Also you could do 2 missed appts and they're out policy.

Terribly fustrating though.

Plus feels like a complete waste of your time.
