Are free online admin courses worth doing?

So I'm looking at returning to work after a long period as a SAHM, previously I have worked in childcare and as a cleaner but I'm hoping to move in to office/admin work which will work better around school hours.

However, I have absolutely no qualifications in this area and Google is not really helping as I'm getting too many adverts for courses and I have no idea where to start. If you work in this area what are the best courses to do? Will a free online course help or are they not worth the paper they're written on?

Thank you to anyone who has any advice 🙏

There are absolutely loads of free course on LinkedIn. They're great. If ever i have a spare hour at work I'll do an Excel course or a Word course (or something similar). They'll definitely make you feel more confident about starting an admin job.

Even if they don’t necessarily teach you much, with my recruitment hat on it would impress me that you were obviously actively working towards a skill and I’d like that you were invested enough to be doing courses. Definitely do it!

Thanks I'll give that a look, hadn't thought of looking on linkedin!
