Mine are relationship dilemmas (where the obvious answer isnt just to ltb) , sex and dating dilemmas, and gossip/tea spilling

More of those in 2025 please 🤭 x

My life is very uneventful, just revolves around my dd and my cat 😄 so I'm living vicariously through you all

CF ones. I’d like to see a CF dedicated board.

Agree, especially the ones where the CF gets their comeuppance.

JobhuntingDespair · 05/01/2025 14:00

I love the ones about something bonkers someone has done (including parking, decorating a house terribly, etc) that lead to a whole host of similar stories from posters, as well as humourous suggestions as to how to deal with the OP's situation. Even better if there's ongoing developments/updates from the OP.

(Best thread ever in this vein was years ago, involving the OP's neighbour knocking out a listed building window to put some patio doors into OP's garden. By the end of several threads, we'd had endless humourous suggestions, re-written several songs to suit the situation, had cast all the main characters for the movie version, had a comical saga running alongside about Putin following the thread, and located all the most tasteless garden ornaments one could wish for.)

MN has got too serious recently!

thepariscrimefiles · 05/01/2025 14:06

I love the ones where an OP in a clearly abusive relationship comes back a few months later to say that she has left him and is now doing great.

The best of this genre was 'CoatsProtectionLeague'.

Onlyhereforthebatshitneighbours · 04/01/2025 15:14

The ones about batshit neighbours

This! My neighbours are saints compared to some on here!

BanditofBrisbane · 05/01/2025 14:32

Parking threads and CFs.

I like a reminder that my own life isn't as batshit as it seems

smallsilvercloud · 05/01/2025 14:33

Supermarket ones
Smelly people in supermarkets
Should you have uncovered bread rolls
What's the best dupes
Also dating dilemmas

Absolutely this. The woman whose mate stole her glasses. The guy who parked in what was essentially someone's garden. I absolutely live for those

youvebeenjammed · 05/01/2025 14:56

I've never TTC or been pregnant, but I absolutely adore "line eyes" threads. I get such a vicarious rush when other people confirm that they can see lines or the OP posts a clearly positive test a few days later. It's just nice to share that wee bit of hope and joy.

dreamer24 · 05/01/2025 15:05

”I had an EMCS with triplets in the back of a broken-down Robin Reliant on the M25 during Storm Arwen and I still did the school run for my stepchildren the next day because my DH was disappeared by a brutalist regime, why can’t you?”

😂😂

They’re not AIBU though.

I know the normal argument is ‘posting for traffic’ but maybe what HQ need to do is spend a week or so focusing on moving threads to the correct boards & see if it makes any difference to where people post.

Yerroblemom1923 · 05/01/2025 22:14

The "someone has knocked on my door" threads, but they're too scared to answer it, but who could it be and what could they want?!
Only on MN are grown adults scared to answer their doors!!! What is happening to the world?!

CF ones. I’d like to see a CF dedicated board.

Came to day this.

Love a good CF thread.

Not read all this thread but the latest CF one involved a dyson airwrap; I think sadly the OP is going to have to fork out for a new one.

Another was where the OP had lent her new laboutin shoes to someone who then bloody pawned them!! Unreal! 😳

But the best one of all was the Mexican House thief 🤣outrageous!!

Love a spooky story too...savernake forest!! 👻

Projectme · 05/01/2025 22:26

Yerroblemom1923 · 04/01/2025 20:21

Woo threads are quite good but I was gutted to learn the Forest one was fake!

WHAT?!?! NOOOOO!!!!!
how did you find out the story was fake?!

pimplebum · 05/01/2025 22:29

Balonz …! was my all time favourite post ! tittering now just thinking about it

and the one where the poor woman found a lipstick in her washing machine that wasn’t hers and the very next poster derailed it and it went off on a bonkers tangent about things found in the human body that shouldn’t be there - poor op didn’t get one sensible answer but it was awesome !

the ghost stories are super interesting too

I think lots of posters came on to say it was.... if course it might still be true! It gave me proper goosebumps and I've wanted to visit ever since I read it.

Anything involving a nanny.

Also the real time parking or going on dates ones.

SkiingIsHeaven · 06/01/2025 02:54

Also love the tips/ hacks ones.

PlumHedgehog01 · 06/01/2025 02:56

Affairs but more upper class ones,

What makes an affair upper class? 👀

OP posts:

The friendship group ones.

Personally I find friendships more difficult to navigate than romantic relationships - and I think it’s because - once you decide to end a romantic relationship - it’s very upsetting and traumatic - but it’s a ‘clear cut’ situation - iyswim. When you want to end a friendship it’s more difficult and nuanced and there are many more grey areas.

So based on the above. any advice is welcome. These are the best threads for me on AIBU

@pelargoniums oh yes! Anyone over 50 who does anything remotely odd gets a dementia diagnosis!

So many medical experts on MN, the NHS could save millions!
I love the posts where someone is asking for very basic advice and I wonder if they can walk and talk at thousand time.

Mexican House Thief isn't its own thread it was a post on a thread called Have You Ever Encountered Anyone This Cheeky? In Classics

It's a great story
