Hand hold needed

I’m not sure if I’m posting in the right place but I desperately need a hand hold.

DH was admitted to hospital yesterday through A&E with suspected cellulitis. He was started on IV pain relief, antibiotics and fluids.

He’s not improving, they can’t give him anymore fluids and he’s being treated for muscle inflammation/infection.

His blood pressure is 80/58 and there are discussions around transferring him to ICU.

Any advice/experience would be appreciated.

The doctor has been to see me and was very frank about how poorly he is.

I have no experience but just to say that I’m so sorry to hear this and understand how utterly terrifying this must be for you.

It must be very worrying. It’s still quite soon for the treatment to work. ICU is sometimes needed just for the staffing levels and equipment so that the best care can be given. Try to keep positive.
Do you have anyone with you or nearby?

@Stickygloop Just wondering how you and your DH are?

My DH was admitted to hospital after a 25 hour wait for an ambulance 9 weeks ago and spent 3 weeks in there with cellulitis and a deeply infected leg along with an enormous DVT. I can still remember how frightened I was and how unreal it all felt, suddenly facing such a new reality.

Thinking of you & your DH

Thinking of you and sending love.

Apologies all for not coming back sooner, it’s been horrid. A quick update - 3 operations to remove necrotic muscle from his leg, a week in icu, another 2 weeks on ward, then a transfer to another hospital’s infectious diseases ward and finally home. They still don’t know what caused it but said it was some kind of necrotising myositis.

Oof, that sounds pretty grim.
Hope he is on the mend now, though I'm guessing it will be a long while till he's 100%.

Oh dear @Stickygloop that sounds horrendous. I hope you are both being supported and are able to enjoy him being home.

hugs to you
