Perhaps this will be the thread where the penny drops, to you, that there has already been an inquiry. I don’t hold out much hope though.

Perhaps this will be the thread when the penny drops for some posters that nothing meaningful has been done to change the cultural context in which these gang raped occurred.

I've said repeatedly in multiple threads that it's not about holding another enquiry.

I think journalists and people like Rupert Lowe should and will invest effort into consolidating the data and policy-making. I think the policies that would be effective will be politically unpalatable, but to the Labour party: What's the point of a big majority if you won't use it.

nfkl · 03/01/2025 15:06

CorbyTrouserPress · 03/01/2025 14:56

I think the ones using drugged & raped children as a political pawn are the ones to be concerned about.

Maybe EM uses the situation as a political pawn, but all the posters who have spent lots of energy this morning minimising, deflecting, denying the suffering of the victims, denying that this wound is still open in public opinion, just because Elon decided to take a side have DEFINITELY turned the victims and the situation into pawns.

What matters is the victims, everyone should support them and help them get justice, bad people, good people, the left, the right, the deplorables, the people you like and the people you don't, that Elon s intervention is changing some posters views about it is a sign they are the ones with no solid morals.

I support these victims, enquiries have not gone far and open enough. I don't care who agrees with me, may it be Ant & Dec, Elon or whomever, doesn t change the facts.

Chainzreaction · 03/01/2025 15:08

CorbyTrouserPress · 03/01/2025 15:03

You know exactly what you are doing. You don’t care about these children anymore than Musk does.

That shows how much you know. I have been calling this out since 2015. It is one of the biggest scandals in modern Britain. It is very important that it stays to the forefront of our minds to protect this current & future generation of children.

What change do you think they should have made in 6 months?

Exactly. There is no grey area. There is no condoning . You are either for or against the sexual exploitation of children.
Anyone who is disgusted & horrified by what happened at the hands of this evil gang will be delighted that such powerful figures are speaking out. Like EM, J.K Rowling has tweeted very valuable contributions & is continuing to heap the pressure on.
How many more complicit who haven't been before judge & jury?

@kistanbul if that's true why are the tories calling for another investigation this morning?
It's disgraceful that it's taking Elon Musk to raise awareness.
How many complicit behind the scenes that knew & failed to act? It's not enough that the perpetrators are behind bars. Everyone who failed to do their jobs & protect those girls need investigating. Not good enough.
Elon Musk has been tweeting all morning, it really boils my piss that our politicians didn't do the same.

Why don't you think the Tories will jump on anything they can attack with? There have been enquiries and the government is supporting ongoing local investigations.
What do you think is Elon Musks agender?

ilovesooty · 03/01/2025 15:13

TheFairyCaravan · 03/01/2025 15:01

There was an inquiry. The Tories didn’t act on it. The Tories, also, didn’t care
when Boris Johnson said investigating historical child sex abuse cases was “spaffing money up the wall.” Funny how they’ve allegedly found some morals now, isn’t it? 🤔

Edited

Exactly.

NO ONE over both threads has minimised what happened to the girls. No one has denied their suffering, or deflected it.

What people are saying is that Musk is a psychopath who is not interested in the girls. He is only interested on his own gains, and that one tweet does not cancel out any of his others. He is doing so all the people like you will talk about him and feed his ego.

You know what, how DARE you claim that anyone who is speaking out against Musk is minimising anything the girls went through. I'm guessing both you and the OP are on the payroll of Reform. Especially as the OP was unable to answer my question about it.

Crumpies · 03/01/2025 15:14

The people who care about CSA in the UK are well aware of the enormous public inquiry and work to implement the recommendations. - https://www.iicsa.org.uk
Most people didn’t notice the 15 comprehensive reports because the inquiry was completed around the time Liz Truss was filling the newspapers.

There are other people who whose motivations have little to do with safeguarding children. They are undermining all the victims who worked so hard with the inquiry.

This exactly and it’s so disheartening to see how easy it is for someone like Elon Musk to prey on people’s ignorance

jannier · 03/01/2025 15:15

PeppyGreenFinch · 03/01/2025 14:57

Musk was subpoenaed in the Jeffrey Epstein case.

He hasn’t condemned Epstein for grooming, just called him a crook.

Your knight in shining armour has feet of clay.

Yep but Epstein was his friend Labour aren't so we all know what's behind it..Trump isn't exactly squeaky clean but now he's above the law. I think Op maybe Elon in sheep's clothing

Where?

On the feminist board here, I've been emailing my local mps, I've been very active online & I have written many letters about my concerns so I am delighted that people with the influence of EM & JKR have finally weighed in .
What have you done except try to belittle & silence those who oppose child rape? Disgusting.

Well now it's obviously time to reopen it. This can't be swept up under the carpet.

Why? Why not just implement the findings of the first inquiry? Surely actually doing something is better than wasting millions to find information that they already know and give findings they already have.

I think it's great the spotlight is back on the VAWAG but claiming nothing is being done is not true.

W0tnow · 03/01/2025 15:17

Chainzreaction · 03/01/2025 14:59

Not at all. All government failings need to be exposed.
As I said there is no middle ground here. The ones who are trying to defend or deflect are the problem not the ones exposing or demanding answers
There is no middle ground when it comes to the sexual exploration of young children.

Agree!! Look at all the work Elon is doing in order to raise awareness of the eye watering levels of child exploitation in Thailand! And the millions he donates each year to his cause!

Oh, wait....

Can you copy and paste the body of one of your letters?

I’d like to use it to write to my local MP.
