The rest of the list

Are they all involved in the inquiry that this post is in reference to?

OP posts:
baroqueandblue · 03/01/2025 16:53

@Chainzreaction I only care about me?! In what way. I want justice for all those women & they need a real platform to speak out from. How selfish of me!

Where were you before this morning on this issue, out of interest? I would be grateful if you could link me to other internet interventions you've made on behalf of these victims.

MrsSchrute · 03/01/2025 16:54

So, even though it has been shown that there has been an inquiry, and the victims are calling for the outcomes of THAT inquiry to be implemented, you are STILL persisting in calling for another one.

Why?

Why?

Either stupidity, or blatant political
opportunism.

or both

Why do the victims want one? Why do the tories want one?

One victim has been misled and used for political ends

the tories? See the previous comment on blatant political opportunism

Chainzreaction · 03/01/2025 16:56

Why do the victims want one? Why do the tories want one?

It would seem that one of the victims wants one, the majority seem to want the outcomes implemented.

I'd think it's pretty obvious why the Tories want one, to make Labour look bad. That's their job.

So you think the victim is incorrect, that her voice counts for nothing??

I think she’s being used by people like you

and answer my question. Should the conservatives have enacted the recommendations?

CorbyTrouserPress · 03/01/2025 15:55

@Chainzreaction please can I have a copy of a letter you sent to your MP so I can do the same

See, OP, people are wanting to send your letter to their local MPs. This is the time to take action, please share your letter.

Well shouldn't labour have been doing the same during their time in opposition & made them tories "look bad" to pressure them into implementing the findings from the report.

Yes they absolutely should have actioned the recommendations.

😂 this bollocks again

seriously op, you can’t be that dense. Why won’t you admit the conservative government was to blame for not implementing recommendations!

I have read this article twice now, and I can't see that it mentions a victim calling for another inquiry anywhere.

How is she being used? It's her story to tell. She obviously is unhappy with the previous enquiry if she feels a new one is necessary.

That's not true at all. Evidence please. I said the inquiry needed to be reopened. Please post where I said i did not know of the inquiry.

I need to pop out so can't get all your quotes, but here are two to get started.

"Well someone has to shine a light on it & demand a full inquiry"

"It's drawing global attention to the fact that an enquiry MUST take place"

Quite clearly you were ignorant of the 2022 else you wouldn't say an enquiry must take place

PandoraSox · 03/01/2025 17:02

Chainzreaction · 03/01/2025 15:21

Well you & I both know we have very different stances so no you can't. Do your own leg work for goodness sake.

Shades of "do your own research".

How come you have more than one MP?

Billydavey · 03/01/2025 17:02

Chainzreaction · 03/01/2025 17:01

Yes they absolutely should have actioned the recommendations.

So the solution now must be to do what they should have done? Surely?

DuncinToffee · 03/01/2025 17:03

Chainzreaction · 03/01/2025 16:56

Why do the victims want one? Why do the tories want one?

The Tories, Badenoch was part of that, failed to implement the recommendations

Here is Prof Jay from the IICSA inquiry

Professor Jay said in November she felt "frustrated" that none of her report's 20 recommendations to tackle abuse had been implemented more than two years later.

She said: "It's a difficult subject matter, but it is essential that there's some public understanding of it.

"But we can only do what we can to press the government to look at the delivery of all of this.

"It doesn't need more consultation, it does not need more research or discussion, it just needs to be done."

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 03/01/2025 17:04

OneAmberFinch · 03/01/2025 16:50

The part where you assume anyone who is currently upset and enraged about the new details emerging in public this week, automatically supports the Tories' approach to this.

Except that isn’t what I said. My point is actually that the Tories are happily using Musk to bang a drum and score points against Labour, whilst they’ve already proven they don’t give a flying fuck for the victims.

Yep it’s been established that op did not know about the enquiry, was informed, then changed her ask and lied about it

however she’s now in a bit of a mess calling for a new enquiry while saying the old one’s recommendation should have been actioned…

Longtimelurkerfinallyposts · 03/01/2025 17:05

The Tories refused to set up an separate inquiry in 2022, insisting that the IICSA was enough, and that councils like Oldham should organise more local public inquiries if this was needed.
It's obvious that this recent change of heart is simply an attempt to capitalise on the victims' suffering for political ends - pretty shameful really.

This is in relation to the tories calling for a new enquiry. There was an article posted earlier where a victim of the rapists is calling for a new inquiry too. Here it is
