I remember posting on here tha last time I had a hangover (oh and it was a marvellous one!) They're horrid things, made vastly worse by the addition of children. Poor you!x

chrissnow · 03/05/2008 09:14

When my dh used to drink, he swore by his fat and fizz remedy.

You need to eat something fatty like a fry up and a fizzy drink.
Coke is best apparently.

It either makes you instantly vomit which in turn makes you feel great or it just makes you feel great without the vomiting.

Psychomum5 · 03/05/2008 09:30

the thought of a fry-up makes my face look a little like this ->

coke is possible tho....DH normally has some stahsed somewhere

Disenchanted · 03/05/2008 09:31

Don't drink then

Hassled · 03/05/2008 09:31

You have my sympathy - hangovers are hell and get worse as you get older. There is no justice.

Full fat coke with cheese and onion crisps - you get the salt/sugar balance you body needs.

Psychomum5 · 03/05/2008 09:33

disenchanted......that comment was below the belt!!!!!

crisps......also induces face

Disenchanted · 03/05/2008 09:34

Sorry, lol... I don't drink so don't really 'get it'

My mum ALWAYS gets a McDonalds strawberry milkshake the morning after, sorts her out quickly!

Psychomum5 · 03/05/2008 09:36

ah no....don;t feel for your comment....was expecting it from someone!!!!

I say the same thing to DH if he is slightly headachy......I give no sympathy as it is a 'self induced' headache.

I however, DESERVE sympathy as I am me

OP posts:
lou33 · 03/05/2008 09:46

mojitos are my favourite

i only had 3 bottles of beer last night but a late night, so i am tired

Psychomum5 · 03/05/2008 09:51

nappiesgalore introduced me to mojito's at the MN xmas meetup, but I was still having to be alcohol free at that point so didn;t appreciate it that much I have to admit....was rather strong

thought I would try again last night.....they are nice

possibly less nice the day after tho

Psychomum5 it was definitely the liqueur that has given you a hangover. I went out with two friends last night for a meal, we had 2 bottles of champagne and 3 bottles of white-wine between us, I didn't feel drunk, I intended to pace myself as am out of practice since before getting preggers with ds.
I had "resolve" before I went to bed and I got up at usual time 8.00am and feel fine, I am so glad. Hangovers and lo's do not mix.

Last time I went out I had a similar amount as last night and I finished off the night with a brandy and had the hangover from hell the next day and no resolve in the house.

Pablop · 03/05/2008 09:56

btw YANBU, hangovers are so mean.

Psychomum5 · 03/05/2008 09:57

it is just not fair......why hangovers???

hmmm.....I am never drinking again!!!!
