To be repulsed by the smell of rotten potatoes

There were some potatoes in my kitchen cupboard that hadn’t been there that long but one was wet and so it smelled horrendous. I’ve removed them and cleaned the cupboard but the smell will not go away. The whole cupboard and items smell!! It literally smells of sick! Any advice?!

Wet potatoes seep the rancid smell , you need to take everything out and properly clean cupboard whatever was next to it not just a quick wipe I would use vinegar or bleach water .
