Company not picking it up

I ordered something big. It cost about £4k. The shop sent the wrong item. I phoned them and they sent the right one. A delivery company was informed by the shop that they had to pick up the wrong one. This was on the 17th of December. I had the wrong item in a massive box in the (inside) entrance of my home the whole time. No one picked it up. I called the shop yesterday and they were snappy about me saying that I didn’t want to be responsible for it anymore. The pick up company should have come yesterday and they didn’t. I was crossed at having to wait at home on the 31st. I told the shop that l, after waiting at home all morning, would put it out of my house and leave it there, not my responsibility anymore. It’s sheltered (though there’s pouring rain today so the box might get drops of rain) and we don’t live on a major road, plus it’s really heavy so I can’t see anyone stealing it. How long do I have to keep it there before I’m sick of having it on my porch, and what else can I do about it?

(not AI generated. I used short sentences to make it understandable!)

It's not the shop's fault that the delivery company failed to collect yesterday. Also it would be hugely unreasonable to put the item out today - New Year's Day - it definitely won't be collected.

The company failed to collect it for two weeks before today though. Yesterday was another failed attempt.

also, it’s not their fault but it’s their item so they should be responsible for it no?

Don't blame you, this would seriously piss me off too especially if it's something big and bulky taking up space. They need to change courier companies if that one can't be relied upon.

I would put it outside too In fact I would have as soon as the 17th had passed. Whilst it's not the shops fault for the non collection. It's also not yours. It is however the shops fault for sending the wrong item in the 1st place.
I would also not keep contacting them wasting my time
