Relentless illness

Yes I know it's winter but we have been moderately unwell for a good month - 6 weeks now. Youngest has had near constant runny nose and cough. Nothing too debilitating but it's there. Keeps getting 'better' but then symptoms begin again and the same with me. At the moment I have a chesty cough and really, really sore eyes. I can function I just feel shit and it feels like it's been going on for ages.

Could it be the same illness or is it more likely to be new bugs? Toddler goes to nursery so I suspect a lot of it is coming from there.

We’ve had this with my 11 year old. They’ve been snotty coughing and feeling shite (tired and achy) for months, literally since August. There seems to be a minor let-up where it eases off every now and again just to come back with renewed vigour.

Doctors have tried antibiotics, antihistamines and an asthma inhaler to no avail. Just done blood tests and waiting for results. It’s shit.

Sounds like long COVID...... Most of the time symptoms are mild or non existent but eventually an infection can cause symptoms for weeks or months...

Thanks @Walkden but we’ve done several Covid tests and all negative.

Perhaps some other post viral fatigue then; but they do seem more common these days...
