Me today and it was great 🍔

Finally house to myself for a few hours. Special offer of two for one burgers from Uber eats. Ate them whilst watching crappy Real Housewives of Cheshire
Then shoved the bag to the very bottom of the bin
No one will ever know

Well, you can't change the past but you can change what you do in the future.

One thing that stops me overeating is thinking how long the stuff would take to eat (probably not very long) then do something else and after that amount of time has elapsed pretend you have eaten it.

Another thing you can do is have a list of treats to yourself that doesn't involve overeating. Books, TV, manicure, pedicure, bath, putting on favourite clothes, music etc

@eyestosee , did you actually read the thread ???

Cos Im pretty sure you have got the wrong end of the stick completely

@suki1964 ah...my user name is a bit ironic there isn't it? 😂

Well done. Pre -divorce I wasn't allowed any moments to treat myself so I totally get it.

Ditto here... One of the reasons I really love being single again 😀

So why hide the wrappers if they had food at the cafe?

Hell would freeze over too before I had to hide snacks or any kind of food in my own home.

Tell your DH to leave certain things alone.

Entitled prick.

Why would you say that about somebody else's husband? You don't know him. You're slapping down the OP though, judging her actions (which were self-care and fantastic for her), self-aggrandising that you would never stoop so low as to hide food (which OP didn't do) and finishing off with a twat-fling of judging her relationship as lesser somehow?

Team OP. I don't like Whoppers myself but I totally get the sentiment.

Hollowvoice · 02/01/2025 19:43

This is no different to me hiding a box of maltesers behind the tea bags so the DC don't find them and DH and I can scoff them in peace!

most snacks I have to hide, I have zero to myself.

And

I have to hide or Dd asks me for it or Dh eats it

Definitely an entitled prick.

Such a dumb post. OP says that she could buy these things for her husband/daughter but she wants the treat feeling sometimes. Most of us got it.

Are you going to call her daughter a name now? Pathetic. I'm not replying to you again, you've had enough undeserved attention.

greengreyblue · 02/01/2025 20:20

Hahah I get it op. There’s nothing g like a few hours to yourself to eat what you want and watch what you want when ordinarily you’re taking everyone else’s needs into account.

No, I didn't think you would since I pointed out you were wrong, and the OP does have to hide food.

Dunno really…Dh and Dd would’ve complained about me getting them and not for them…most snacks I have to hide, I have zero to myself. I was tracking the Uber guy, willing him to get here fast before they got home, so I could have my moment 😁

My dad’s business partner used to give us a 10lb box of fancy chocolates every Christmas.
It was enormous.

Mum would let us each have one piece and then hide the entire box and eat the rest herself.

I think that’s a bit much, looking back.

fadthisis · 02/01/2025 22:01

I am planning on going to our local industrial estate tomorrow and it’s fair to say that a sneaky double cheeseburger in the drive through might just happen 😂I went to a lot of effort over Christmas and worked New Year’s Day from 7 until 730 ..bed time was early NYE …i bloody deserve a double burger. The dog will get a decent walk to mitigate the burger 😂
