To be fed up with people spitting in the street.

I just find it so gross and it turns me into a complete snob when I see people do it as I’m
so disgusted by them. Does anyone else tell people off? I just said how F!?!ing disgusting without thinking. If my son grows up and does this I’d be furious. Are people not parenting anymore or are my standards too high?

it's disgusting and there's absolutely no excuse wherever somebody is. Lots of sports people don't do it so I don't know why footballers and others feel they have a right to spit.
I always tell them how gross they are. I don't want to step into anyone's phlegm.

I saw a man spit in the street the other day and told him it was disgusting. His look of surprise quickly turned into a sneer. Vile creature.

Ive only ever seen men spitting in public. It never seems to be women. Just an observation.
I think it stems from subconscious behaviours ie whenever you watch a football game, pay close attention to the footballers spitting in the pitch. No one bats an eyelid when you get an up close camera shot yet change the genders and there would be an UPROAR from men making comments about women saying how disgusting it is etc (which it is!) and therefore it must be a disgusting behaviour regardless of gender and so it should be called out when witnessed. Yes, even in sports.
Any decent man however will not be spitting in public and so it may be worth considering this as the public is not all respectable people and that it outwith your control.

Disgusting. Can never understand how women seem perfectly able not to spit in the street, but so many men seem to find it essential.

We need to bring back those posters they used to have, where it said that spitting spread disease. I think it was about TB, which is on the rise I believe,

Absolutely agree. I was getting some cash out outside a supermarket the other day and witnessed two men hocking up something gross and spitting it on the walkway. No excuse. Animals.

Agree, it’s disgusting. You never saw it a few decades ago. I blame sodding footballers for somehow making it appear ‘normal’ by their vile spitting on the pitch.

I well remember being astonished on my first visit to Paris as a young teen in the 60s, to see ‘Defense de cracher’ (No spitting) signs on the Metro. Fancy having to actually tell people not to spit! That’s how I saw it then.

So disgusting. I try my best to avoid it but I dread to think how many globs of spittle I’ve accidentally trod in and walked into my house 🤮 🤮

Completely agree, we need another public health campaign (or series of). It’s utterly revolting.

I am quite sympathetic when it's someone that obviously needs to spit and they're trying to be discreet and look quite sheepish/are apologetic though. Even if it's still disgusting.
