When I first saw her on screen, I literally couldn’t believe my eyes.

As a whole it was pleasant enough and watchable albeit a bit boring in parts - e.g the whole stag do thing was bit ‘meh’ - but I couldn’t just sit through it without scrolling through phone which is terrible habit I know

I like her a lot but I wouldn't say it made the show. I thoguht the cast as a whole made the show.

It was nice to see AMM appear and I think she played it well. I am a big fan of her in Motherland though.

Yes, this three minute performance was so much better than her tour de force in Until I Kill You.

She might get a BAFTA for that 30 seconds. It was a game-changer, stand-out piece of acting.

She was on screen for such a tiny part! Hardly ‘made’ the show in my opinion I think they could be made more of her, perhaps doing a bit of a ‘Julia’. She was quite straight. Loved the finale though. We all let out a collective groan when Sonia was at the wedding fair!

She was fine, I guess her uptightness about the service unravelling was intended to mirror Sonia's whereas the celebrant in the Nessa/Smithy wedding was warm and relaxed and a perfect fit for them as a couple.

Ruth Jones was quite clearly the standout - she played heartbroken but stoical sooo well.

I loved Anna Maxwell Martin in Motherland, but I thought her acting in Gavin and Stacey was really 'off' and I couldn't work out why.

I agree, I felt like she was basically playing Julia in G&S which was weird and didn't fit.

I've never liked her. I don't see her on tv, because I very rarely watch any UK drama, but I've been very bored watching her in the theatre several times.

That makes no sense. The vicar was at the parish church in Barry. AMM played a registrar, not a vicar, in Essex. Why would Smithy and Sonia's civil ceremony be transported to a religious one in Wales so the same vicar could officiate?
