To ask for help using Amazon Fire (yes I'm useless!)

Just set up my 7yo's tablet

I tried to download Numbots and it said it had sent a parental request. I also didn't same for another numeracy app outside the existing package.

No email to grant permission to download has arrived. I've downloaded the parental control app and all the information is working correctly in there (eg which apps have been used) but no notifications have come through about downloads.

What's going on here?! Do they come through in a batch once a day or something

Are you checking the correct email. It should arrive immediately. It will be your Amazon email most likely unless you used a different one.

Yes checking - everything else is arriving for the same account eg changing parental controls. I also have access through the app.

Am concerned if I can't fix it as there is no number I can ring for support.

Very weird.

In the parental app notifications button it says "you currently have no notifications" but when I clicked to download Numbots it said "we have sent a parental request notification" so it should be there.
Everything else on the tablet is tracking, eg I can see what's she's doing on there via the app.

Try going into the settings tab on the app. Go to the heading additional content and then click on add content. On this screen click on apps, you should then see the numbots app with a toggle button next to it which if you click it should put a tick next to it which should make it available.

The only thing in "add content" is a load of books from my Kindle.

Am so confused!!!!

I always have issues like this with technology. Which is why I'm a full apple convert because you can go into the Genius Bar if there's a problem

But obvs was attracted by the parental controls.

In the add content have you switched to apps. I’ve tried to attach a photo 🤞

You might need to go onto the fire tablet itself first and switch to your profile, download numbots onto your profile then do the above add content step.

I think it's possible I've managed to set the limits up for my OWN profile too accidentally... is that even possible?!

I can't help further, but when I can't do technology I ask Google Gemini, you could try Alexa, Siri or whatever bot you have even chat gpt. Hey Gemini how do I upload xxxx onto my Amazon fire step by step as if I were 5 please and it usually hwlps
