Our new house has no thermostat for the central heating, it only has a timer.

We have TRV’s on our radiators downstairs but none on the radiators upstairs?

I’d much prefer a smart thermostat. Is it possible to install one, and if so, what setting should I put the existing TRV’s at?

We had Hive installed not long after we moved into our current house. There was a thermostat but it didn't work. So yes it should be possible - it was a few years ago now but seemed to be straightforward.

I didn't have one, gas man put a portable, radio controlled one in for about £120 I think.
