We spent all day together yesterday. We are all spending today together too, inc dinner out
Dh & 1dc (15) watching football at home from 7.45pm
Other dc (16) doing own thing at home

I have never gone out with friends before on boxing day eve. I feel guilty. Should I be ?

Yes - YABVU and selfish to go out and leave your family at home
No - Go out and have a good time. Dh and 1 dc are watching football till 10.15pm anyways

Go out and have fun!

Rafting2022 · 26/12/2024 13:52

Of course you should go - presumably you’ll be spending several other days together over the holidays? Is he making you question it, not sure why you feel bad about it?

biscuitsandbooks · 26/12/2024 13:54

Why on earth wouldn't you go?

Globules · 26/12/2024 13:55

Why are you even asking the question?!

Agoodhaircut · 26/12/2024 13:55

Dh is fine with it. He will be glad for the football in peace lol. The only thing he is interested in today is the football.

I've just never gone out in the eve with friends before on boxing day without dh and dc. It feels wrong?

Go and have a great time. Everyone else is doing something anyway.

BendingSpoons · 26/12/2024 13:56

Perfectly fine! Go, have fun and don't feel guilty.

Seriously is this a joke thread?

What's the point when you not only know the answer yourself, you could also bet your house on what the majority Mumsnet answer will be?

Mashroom · 26/12/2024 13:58

Sounds brilliant !!! Go for it
