Well, with great timing my boiler has broken down so no heating or hot water. Phoned this morning and have been told first appointment is Monday 30th, four days away. This is with Homecare cover.
Is there anything I can do except wait?

Do you have anyone in the house with asthma or a baby or elderly person?
They usually ask if there's anyone vulnerable in the house that would be affected by lack of heating and hot water.

Do you have alternative heating?

I thought their home care was supposed to be same day if you called before 11am? Or is that another company??

im with BG for my dupply, but Worcester Bosch for my care plan. They've been brilliant.

in your situation I'd find someone local who can come out today (Nextdoor app is brilliant for that!!) & tell. BG to shove their 'home care' policy up their arse!!

hope you can get it sorted!!

No one particularly vulnerable in the home. They did ask. And yes, it is supposed to be same day or at least 48 hours to call out, but they just said next appointment is Monday. I appreciate it’s Christmas, but their advertising doesn’t state exceptions. Just fed up really, contemplating 4 days without a bath!
I do have a couple of little oil heaters and it’s fairly mild, but just very annoying.

They’ve brought it forward to Saturday now, which is better I suppose.
