Grey ball pit

I hope this doesn’t sound like I’m judging. I’m trying not too. My Dfriends baby is 7 months old and they have bought her a grey ball pit and all the balls are also grey and silver. No colour at all which matches their house! Everything grey. They have purposefully bought their baby toys that aren’t too bright so it fits in with their living room. Aibu to think this is actually quite sad?!

Their house/baby their choice.
She probably doesn't consider you opinions when buying items for her house/child.
So yes you are being unreasonable as its nothing to do with you.

Did family and friends by her grey toys too? If not then I don't see an issue.

Even then, at 7 months old I'm not sure it matters. Things may be very different once baby is a toddler.

I like it and actually have a grey ball pit! However my friend likes all bright colours for her kids. Yes she judges me but I also find all the colours a bit much.

I'm on the fence here. The grey / beige trend is ugly and bland, while normal playpen balls and children's technicolor plastic crap are all garish.

I can sort of see the argument about controlling visual stimulation. If it really does help keep kids more chill, then it could be worth it. But I don't know if it's real or pseudoscience.
