I'm over him, but at Christmas he pops into my head

Nearly 3 years since I was discarded in quite a nasty way. I'm in a good place now, but still at Christmas I think of him more than usual. This happened last year also.

Can anyone else relate to thinking about an ex at this time of year?

Occasionally I do think of an ex around this time of year too. Are you single now? Could it be that you feel lonely if not? I sometimes feel lonely at Christmas when seeing posts online for example. But it soon goes away as I am happy being single

I think this happens a lot. Christmas always is a time to reflect on those that are no longer in our lives for many reasons whether that be bereavement, separation, divorce etc. just remember although the discard was brutal he showed his true colours. Don’t let the rose tinted glasses tell you otherwise. Onwards and upwards

I had a serious love affair which ended 20 years ago. I still hear from him 3 times a year Christmas, New Year and my birthday. Just a text message. Feels nice to be remembered - not unsettling.

Yes, I'm single but happily so and have no desire to be with him or anyone else. Maybe it's just a bit of nostalgia at the time of year

I think of exes all the time, in the sad way I think about school days or previous jobs. It’s shaped who we are.

I think about my exes periodically. I am totally over them, but they were significant in my life for a while. IMO completely normal. I also think about friends I am no longer in touch with.

My ex discarded me 5 years ago. The way it happened made my feelings die, almost immediately or so I thought. I have found him cropping into my mind many times- no idea why as he was getting on my nerves and the relationship would not have survived much longer. I don't beat myself up wen he enters my.thoughts, just think ass hole and try and dismiss him. Well rid. Do something nice for u today OP.
