Can somebody tell me how the swimmers are seen? I have been dating recently I'm a swimmer and have strange reaction from some guys. I also scuba dived In the past why is that seen as something strange / unusual. I'm 45 and I love water.

What?

TeenLifeMum · 24/12/2024 22:23

Not really sure what you mean. Swimming seems to be the in thing for women in their 40s - less strain than running.

Also confused? Wines involved so could just be me ...

Jingleberryalltheway · 24/12/2024 22:25

Seen as people who do some exercise in the water. Unless I’m missing some thing?

Barrenfieldoffucks · 24/12/2024 22:25

Define swimmer?

Barrenfieldoffucks · 24/12/2024 22:25

And scuba diving is not unusual.

Lammveg · 24/12/2024 22:26

Do you mean underwater?
I've always found they're much easier to see when I'm wearing goggles.

MrsTerryPratchett · 24/12/2024 22:28

What kind of strange reaction...

edwinbear · 24/12/2024 22:58

Scuba diving isn’t unusual? I’m 49 and a diver, DS is 15 and just just done his advanced PADI - I’m a MSD. I did a cross channel relay swim in 2017 and ex competitive swimmer, DS & DD both swimmers. What makes you think it’s unusual?

jay55 · 24/12/2024 23:02

Are you a passionate wild swimmer who does freezing Christmas dips? Or a regular swimmer who enjoys it for exercise?

Either way as a fatty I always think go you. I've no idea what men think. Do they go straight to thong bikinis and skinny dipping and outdoor sex?

persisted · 24/12/2024 23:04

DH is vaguely annoyed by it because I get up an hour early to swim and mostly smell slightly of chlorine. Obviously this makes no difference to me because I like it.
It's perfectly normal so anyone being weird about it should probably get lost.

RandomUsernameHere · 24/12/2024 23:36

What sort of swimmer are you? I think it's more unusual to be, say, a competitive amateur swimmer than a runner, for example. Is that what you mean? Scuba diving is not at all strange, loads of people do it.

Wzmian · 25/12/2024 07:06

Just regular swimming pool swimmer and I like dips in the river. Just getting stranger reactions from men like I'm doing some kind of extreme sport.

OP posts:
CouchSpud · 25/12/2024 07:07

What specific reactions?

Lurkingandlearning · 25/12/2024 07:39

It’s the men not the sport
