To say this year has brought exactly what I wanted ?

OK - this year hasn’t been perfect in the exact linear fashion - I’ve had a few personal struggles here and there - however I was just thinking now - that

overall - thinking back - 2024 really has brought me everything I’ve really wanted for the past 13 years or so - and especially the past 2 years.

im really grateful for everything - and I try and remember this when I’m faced with domestic drudgery

Hope everyone reading this has had a good enough 2024 at the VERY least and more importantly perhaps - is feeling hopeful about 2025 🙌

I'm actually really, genuinely happy to read this 💐

This year has been shitty in a lot of ways for me - and almost everyone I know - just one let down after another after another. I don't know many people who've had a 'good year' so it was quite heartening to hear this and gave me hope for 2025 😂 Also reminded me that although it's been one hell of a year (bereavement/estrangement/dealing with family physical/mental illnesses/rough break up/assault) I've had successes at work, and smaller personal ones, that I've not really acknowledged and should've done.

Thanks OP. Here's to an even better 2025 💜

@LittleRedRidingHoody that sounds really tough. Thank you and OP for reminding me to look for and hold onto everything I have to be thankful for. Wishing you a peaceful 2025.

What did this year bring you?

My year has been a positive one. We lost my MIL in 2022 at 99, my DM in 2023 at 94, the last of our parents. V sad, but at their ages not unexpected. So this was our first year without any caring responsibilities for 6 or 7 years. Still finding it difficult to sink in that we don't have those ties, and have to dash back from time out. We still do shopping quickly and back ASAP. But at 71, we realise we may not have that many healthy years left, so have had a few more holidays than previous, been to the theatre more, had more days out. Our son has had a tough few years with time spent in a MH hospital nearly 3 years ago, but is making noticeable progress and has managed to hold down a job for well over a year, and has recently been given more responsibilities, so that's the most positive thing this year. DH was also given the all clear on his basal cell carcinoma, a minor none threatening cancer, but resulted in 90% of his nose being removed and rebuilt from his forehead and ears. Had the op 2 years ago, and it is now looking OK, ish. So, looking forward to next year, have a couple of holidays booked, have a few house updates to sort, and involved in planning a fundraising concert in the summer, so lots to get our (few remaining)teeth into. Oh, our car will need replacing and so we will need to go on test drives. Considering doing a Dylan and going electric, so although I hate dealing with car sales people, I am looking forward to trying out the new tech. Roll on the new year, and may we have many more of them.

What did this year bring you?

The successful completion of a task I never thought I’d complete - also reconnecting with someone I DESPERATELY wanted to connect with ❤️
