Lots of different varieties online, nothing in store

My autistic niece wants a weighted blanket for Christmas. I’ve looked for one in Dunelm, a massive Tesco, Asda, Home Bargains, Lidl. Not seen any. I was going near a B&Q today so I thought I’d look at their website to see if they stocked them, and the website had LOADS of options. Great. I went in and there was nothing. Absolutely nothing. They don’t stock them in store apparently, just online. John Lewis are online only for weighted blankets too, and they are delivered straight from the retailer.

Am I the only one who thinks that this is really misleading? It appears that stores just allow consumers to be led into their website by their brand, then try to sell people things that they never had any intention of selling in their store in the first place.

Any yes I would have checked that the one I wanted was in store before I travelled, but there was such a big variety I thought I’d go in and compare and contrast. And I know that next and M&S are shite for this but you can tell what would be in their shop (the next branded things) and what wouldn’t (everything else).

Click & Collect is your friend.

This is really normal, it's far easier to have lots in a warehouse than in a store. If you need something specific then order it in for click and collect.

And do it significantly earlier than four days before Christmas

Hi , I’m not sure if it helps or not but if there is an ikea near you, try there - they sell weighted blankets in the market place section with the bedding, which you can just pick up and buy. Might be worth calling or looking on the website first to check.

This is it, but check the stock levels near you to be on the safe side to avoid a wasted visit, click on the picture for full details

B&Q have a billion things on their website that you can't even click and collect. I have no idea why they do it.

EmeraldRoulette · 20/12/2024 23:28

I'm puzzled

to me, the website represents what you can order online, I would never imagine it was in store.

How old is she? it's just that you to be careful they aren't too heavy. Ideally they're supposed to be a certain percentage of your body weight

I've just bought Kuddly ones . 4 kilos. They suggest this the right weight for starters and light weight people. We've had them 3 days and love them.
