For me, Yodel. Everything arrives late and/or broken. Have sent with them once and the parcel was lost.

Evri is our best if you discount Amazon Prime.

Royal Mail also good but often won't leave the parcel so end up having a 9 mile round-trip to the sorting office to pick it up.

... on the plus side, I'm now only waiting for one delivery side of Christmas!

For me it is XPD, they were absolutely dreadful, my parcel was apparently delivered at 2 in the morning, and I had some trouble convincing them that it had in fact not been delivered.

Evri very much depends on your local courier, mine is fab. Unlike others I rarely have an issue with Royal Mail.

IBlameTheDog · 20/12/2024 22:53

Yodel.

Last time they delivered to my house number but wrong estate.

This time they delivered to my neighbours and didn't leave me a card. Neighbours are arseholes who kept it for the three days it took yodel to find out what they'd done with it.

Absolutely dread hearing yodel are delivering anything.

1stWorldProblems · 20/12/2024 23:22

Yodel - I think because they are on shift work rather than paid by the parcel / delivery. Had a wetsuit that went missing at the depot for a week - the delivery info said it was at the depot, the guys there searched for ages and eventually decided it hadn't left the distribution centre. But the app was never updated and the parcel eventually went back to the sender.

Then a vital parcel was supposed to be delivered to our local Post Office drop-off point. Yodel "tried to deliver" for 5 days - all of them after 6pm, when the PO is shut! Got it on the day of the event.

2nd worse is our Amazon driver "handed to resident” my arse! Left propped against the front door in full view & doesn't even ring the doorbell!

I wouldn't mind so much if you could complain easily to either company but I guess they keep their stats looking good by making it impossible to contact someone/ complain.

GCAcademic · 20/12/2024 23:25

Parcelforce. We are obviously right at the end of the route from their depot, and the drivers never actually get here because they run out of time.

Waltdisnerd · 20/12/2024 23:27

Evri. Made 3 orders from the Disney store this Christmas and didn't receive one.
Had to be refunded in the end

saltandvinegarchipsticks · 20/12/2024 23:28

It’s absolutely a lottery depending on the person. Royal Mail are probably the worst in my area. Our Evri driver is a legend, we tip him every Christmas.

Katemax82 · 20/12/2024 23:29

MindfulAndDemure · 20/12/2024 21:31

Evri are AWFUL. Best is DPD. Close second is RM.

This..last year evri lostc2 parcels I was expecting containing Christmas presents I had ordered but they showed as "delivered"..I had to get a refund from the store I ordered from but I'm sure they thought i was lying. And they "lost" a parcel i sent containing £300 worth of grandkids Christmas presents (obviously stole) the only reason I sent the parcel with them is because it was too big for the other couriers to take

LostPups · 20/12/2024 23:29

Evri is absolutely awful. Really really bad.

StrawberryWater · 20/12/2024 23:30

Around here it's DPD. I have never had anything actually turn up from them.

I find all the others fine, even the much maligned Evri.

PepperoniPizzas · 20/12/2024 23:32

I've been really lucky! Never had a problem with any of them! I, however, caused a problem just the other day. Evri lady turned up to collect my returns and I forgot to leave them out! She said that was fine she'd call back later. I sorted the parcel and left it out with some chocolate for her.

rainylake · 20/12/2024 23:34

They are all as bad as each other. This week Evri shoved a parcel of mine through a random open kitchen window without even telling the people who lived in that house. I had to walk round the area trying to see if I could identify whose kitchen it was without looking like a crazy stalker

daffodilandtulip · 20/12/2024 23:35

I think a lot depends on the driver. Our evri driver was amazing, always pleasant, always left your parcel somewhere sensible and safe. The new one delivers to any random house and you have to ask on the town group if anyone recognises the front door to try and get it back.

Royal Mail timings are a pain, but again we have a regular one who knows good hiding places. When he's off, there's no hope.

Our yodel driver is lovely and helpful, but if I use the collected service, the shop assistants are absolutely vile. They won't serve you until they've served all the "proper customers" and then sulk about having to use the difficult machine.

I use dpd for work a lot and they seem reliable.

sweetsardineface · 20/12/2024 23:36

Everi are so bad that I won’t buy from any company that uses them. They don’t even bother knocking on the door and leave parcels in random places, usually in parallel streets.

umdontdothat · 20/12/2024 23:40

Yodel by far

FluffBut · 20/12/2024 23:45

Tonight Amazon left my Christmas cake on the doorstep in a cardboard box in torrential rain. My tracking info said to put in the shed as I was out. FFS 🤦‍♀️

ReformMyArse · 21/12/2024 00:03

DPD and Amazon are amazing here. Royal Mail is a heart sink.

ManchesterLu · 21/12/2024 00:07

Amazon Prime are the worst near us. They don't bother knocking, just leave the package on the doorstep. Can't even be arsed sliding it behind the bin out of sight - literally just right there, for all to see, in all weathers. Had a couple of paperbacks completely ruined thanks to them.

Gingerkittykat · 21/12/2024 00:08

Royal Mail.

I had one problem with Evri, the driver had slit open the parcel that said computer parts on the box. They decided the new laptop charger wasn't worth stealing and delivered it.

Marmiteontoastgirlie · 21/12/2024 00:09

Royal Mail are the only ones who refuse to deliver to our flat door so we are always having parcels not delivered by them. No problems with the rest - DPD in our area are the best, I keep trying to nominate our driver for an award on their website but it never works for me.

Rokuandice · 21/12/2024 00:14

Evri - but it’s not the courier himself. Recently collected a completely open and rifled through John Lewis order from the local parcel shop. It was only a small order of a couple of mulled wine glasses and a few Christmas decorations- wine glasses gone and 2 out of 4 decorations damaged. The shopkeepers said it happens all the time with evri. The drivers are just given big boxes of deliveries to take out and they do n’t always see the state of what’s inside… forgot to reply to John Lewis thinking of it now!

Smallsalt · 21/12/2024 00:18

Royal Ma ail are deplorable. Every second parcel vanishes or is delayed .

TheDogsMother · 21/12/2024 00:44

Yodel/Amazon probably the worst and DPD Jon is a local hero. Evri has a new driver and is now good. Posties are also great.

braaaiiins · 21/12/2024 01:38

I am very firmly in my Evri delivery woman's fan club. I always give her excellent reviews, i hope that means she gets recognised by them for being so good.

Purplelimesoda · 21/12/2024 03:10

I'm an online trader and I must say Royal Mail have almost been problem free so it seems there is a first time for everything, mind the prices they are now charging they should imo step it up a bit anyway. By far the worst have been yodel anything I have had delivered by them has taken a week or more longer than quoted and actually I'm still waiting for an order being delivered by them that was ordered the first week of December expected by the 11th and still no show and there seems no way to contact them either.

Gymrabbit · 21/12/2024 03:29

Evri are the worst by a mile in my area. Two parcels this year both smashed up (one to my house and one to a shop). A few years ago evri delivered a Denby crockery set to my house and we ended up with two extra partial sets as each time half of the items were smashed to bits.

best are dpd with their accurate delivery times.

Royal Mail are ok.
